Renewed Or Cancelled?
Swarm is a chilling psychological thriller that’s intricately woven, telling the terrifying tale of a young woman named Dre. Dre grows fixated on a fictional pop singer named Ni’Jah. She fantasizes about meeting her and becoming friends with the singer because she is so enamored with the star. Dre has a very tough reality because she continues to live in a fantasy, consequently feeling more lonely than ever after tragedy strikes.
The storyline of the show has received positive responses from critics and the general public.
You may be curious to know whether this has been renewed or canceled for season 2 after completing season 1. Here’s what we know:
What is Swarm about?
Dre is on the hunt, dealing with the loss of Marissa and murdering critics of Ni’Jah while fervently wishing to meet the celebrity one day. Her craze with the musician grows to the point where she sets off on a murderous rampage across the nation.
This gripping crime drama is a scathing commentary on the current state of the world. The Donald Glover production reveals how social media creates delusions inside the imaginations of impressionable young audiences and gives one an untrue feeling of being connected with artists. Furthermore, the show paints a complete picture of what a truly extreme scenario might entail.
Has Swarm been renewed for season 2?
A second season of this macabre drama has yet to be announced by Amazon Prime. However, there are some good reasons to want more episodes. The show is – at the time of writing at least – the most popular show on Amazon in the United States and the UK. Furthermore, it was revealed in February 2021 that Donald and Stephen Glover had agreed to a full contract with Amazon that also included Swarm, which at that point was known as Hive.
That being said, Janine Nabers, the creator of the show, touched on the subject of Swarm’s potential season two return and stated: “This is a limited series. This is a story that has a very clear beginning, middle, and end, so this is it”.
With all things being considered, it’s fair to assume that Swarm won’t receive a second season renewal.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Since Amazon Prime has not yet approved a sequel, not much is known about season 2. But if the creators change their minds and if the right storyline materializes in the future, the tale might go on.
The series comes to a close with Dre approaching the stage of a Ni’Jah music event and joining Ni’Jah backstage. It’s not clear, though, whether it’s real or if Dre is merely hallucinating.
If Season 2 happens, it’s likely to focus on Dre having to deal with the repercussions of her actions. Moreover, Detective Loretta Greene is chasing her as she has strong suspicions against her. The name of the individual who bit Ni’Jah’s face will probably be revealed as well.
As previously stated, we anticipate that this won’t be renewed but stranger things have happened! As new information is made available, we’ll be certain to update this article.
