Renewed Or Cancelled?
Sunny is the latest slow-burn mystery drama on Apple, with 10 episodes blending dark comedy and mystery together. So after watching it in its entirety, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Sunny about?
Sunny revolves around Suzie, an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life is upended when her husband Masa and son Dee disappear in a mysterious plane crash.
As “consolation” she’s given Sunny, one of a new class of domestic robots made by Masa’s electronics company. Though at first Suzie resents Sunny, gradually they develop an unexpected friendship, as they uncover the dark truth together.

Has Sunny been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Sunny has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Apple would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.
So far, Sunny has had a mixed reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many commenting (including ourselves) that the pacing is super slow and could have done with being tightened up. Or at least released with multiple episodes a week!
Given the way this show is set up, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. The series does have plenty of potential but the story comes to a suitable conclusion (no spoilers here!) and the low viewership looks like it could be a deciding factor.
However, we could be completely wrong, given Apple do love to renew a lot of their shows, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point as Apple haven’t officially renewed this one. Should it be renewed, we have some big questions.
Will there be another murder mystery? Will there be any more story to adapt? It seems unlikely but if this show is renewed, we’d expect it to be green-lit with another 10 episode order, and bring back a lot of the old cast too.

I would love to see “Sunny” come back for a 2nd season. I’d course I’d love to see Masa and Zen be alive and they all live happily weird together. At the end of another mystery.
I just want a conclusion to where Zen and Masa are and why they went
Into hiding.
