Suicide Squad Isekai is the latest anime spin on the DC Comics’ Suicide Squad action drama, with 10 episodes chock full of drama and thrills. So after watching it in its entirety, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Suicide Squad Isekai about?
Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark.
Yes, the Suicide Square are back and sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies—an “ISEKAI!”
Has Suicide Squad Isekai been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Suicide Squad Isekai has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Max and Hulu would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.
So far, Suicide Squad Isekai has had a mixed reaction from critics and audiences alike, although some have commented that the show pales by comparison to the comic books.
Given the way this show is set up, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. The series does have plenty of potential but it seems unlikely.
However, we could be completely wrong, given Max do like their animated shows, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point as Max haven’t officially renewed this one. Should it be renewed, the post-credits tease should be enough to entice fans back and it should pick up where we left off.
It seems unlikely but if this show is renewed, we’d expect it to be green-lit with another 10 episode order, and bring back a lot of the old voice actors too.
