What is Subteran about?

Cami is the key witness to her fiance’s murder, but the Bucharest gang responsible for this has no idea that this mother in IT is onto them. Now, she sets out to go undercover and fight back against those responsible, intent on gaining revenge in the process.

Across the six episodes, Cami finds herself embroiled in the world of crime… but will her new disguise keep her hidden?

Has Subteran been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Subteran has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.

With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made. So far, Subteran has had a pretty mixed reaction online from critics and audiences alike, with some pointing out how over the top this is and how it’s akin to a telenovela in structure, while others are enjoying this pacey affair that dives into the ideas of corruption.

Given the way this show is set up, and the ending we receive, we’re predicting that this will be renewed for a second season. Netflix are usually much kinder on their international offerings when it comes to renewals and if Subteran does good numbers, or has a high completion rate, we’d imagine this one will get the green-light.

However, we could be completely wrong too, although that does seem very unlikely in this case.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about Subteran season 2 at this point. The ending does leave things open for a sequel, and should it return we’d imagine there will be a similar 6 episode structure, along with returning characters and a similarly pacey structure with lots of twists and turns along the way.

However, that does seem rather unlikely given what we have to work with here. Either way, we’ll be sure to update this page when more information becomes available.
