Renewed Or Cancelled?
Starstruck is an amusing and well written comedy series, one that’s quietly been doing its business on HBO Max and BBC for the last 3 years. It’s an easy show to watch and binge through.
With the third season now over, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Starstruck Season 3 about?
Starstruck picks up where season 2 left off. Still living in London and working at the local cinema, Jessie decides to explore her new single life after parting ways with film star Tom.
It’s been two years since the breakup, and Jessie finds herself navigating the pressures of adulthood while confronted with the consequences of her own choices. Her friends are all moving on to the next stages in their lives, while Jessie is left questioning what her purpose really is – and what she wants.
Has Starstruck been renewed for season 4?
At the time of writing, Max and BBC have not renewed Starstruck for a fourth season, although it’ll be interesting to see if this one does get the green-light, given how good the engagement is for this one.
Generally HBO Max and BBC, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before a decision is made over a show’s future.
Starstruck has been received relatively positively overall, with a good reaction from fans and critics alike, with lots liking the show and the audience generally enjoying the romance and drama this show has in abundance.
However, there is the usual “3 season hump” to contend with, as studios generally tend to cancel off projects after three seasons as the costs of the show go up and the audience numbers dwindle. However, this is an easy comedy to sit through and there’s certainly room for more at the end.
With all that in mind, we predict that this will not be renewed for a follow-up season, although we will update this section when we learn more!
What we know about season 4 so far:
Not much is known about season 4 at the time of writing, given HBO Max and BBC have not officially renewed this one yet. Should the streamers decide to greenlight this one then of course we’ll be seeing more of Jessie’s exploits alongside her friends, as they contemplate the next stage of their lives.
As highlighted above, we think this is not going to be renewed but hopefully we get an answer sooner rather than later!

Liam and Jesse are well suited for each other and the fact that he gave her space but kept himself close enough for her to come back, that was just soo incredibly sweet…. No need to push it with other season….
They succeeded on balancing the right amount of rom-com and down to 🌎 relatable day to day hardships….
Love Jessie and Liam together. Can’t see a season 4 without her messing it up. It’s best to leave things believing they lived happily ever after.
Would love for there to be a season 4 of Starstruck. Really enjoyed this show. Loved the ending in Season 3 and would love to see Jesse get her happily ever after with Liam.
Loved Tom as well but agree that it wouldn’t have worked for them despite their deep love for each other. They come from 2 different worlds. Would also like to see hiw the rest of the characters progress as well
