The tale centres on Charlie and Mike, two teens who wind up being stuck on a remote island shortly after a sea beast attacks their ship. They quickly learn, though, that this is no typical island—it’s inhabited by horrifying creatures they had no idea existed.

What is Skull Island about?

Two teens Charlie and Mike have to collaborate with other stranded individuals they encounter along the way on the remote island, including Annie. Two stranded groups are tracked within the narrative as they struggle to stay alive in the incredibly hostile environment. The sea beast responsible for the shipwrecks continues to lurk near the island, making it impossible for them to leave.

The action series unfolds on the island, which is the birthplace of Kong. The Netflix show makes references to other creatures in the Monsterverse, which includes Godzilla, but, in contrast to other works, the primary protagonists continue to be humans throughout.

Has Skull Island been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Skull Island has not been renewed for a season 2. While renewing a series, Netflix often evaluates a variety of factors, such as how many people immediately watch it along with the drop-off rates. Some series undergo fast cancellations or renewals. Sometimes, it may take several months for Netflix to decide whether or not to renew a show.

Skull Island has received a rather mixed response from reviewers and viewers alike. However, there is plenty of room for a second season, which leads us to believe that the creators would be willing to explore the storyline further.

In light of everything though, we believe that Skull Island will receive a second season renewal. As we learn more over the upcoming weeks and months, we’ll be certain to update this page with relevant information.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Since Netflix has not yet approved a sequel, not much is known about Skull Island season 2. The debut season of Skull Island concludes on a cliffhanger, leaving room for more storylines in subsequent seasons.

Charlie’s crazy idea to force a fight between Kong and the aquatic monster in the show’s finale is revealed. Charlie’s tactics are successful, and Annie as well as Dog are able to entice Kong towards the beach.

However, the final seconds of the fight produce such enormous waves that Annie as well as Dog are carried away. Two weeks later, Annie finds herself in a city hospital when she wakes up. Irene, who turns out to be her mom, is present. However, neither Dog, Charlie, Mike nor Cap are to be found.

We’ll probably learn the identities of the masked assailants who captured Charlie in season 2. Additionally, it’s quite possible that Annie is the Monsterverse incarnation of Ann Darrow, the main human figure in a number of King Kong films. This too could be made clear in the upcoming season.
