Renewed Or Cancelled?

Siren: Survive The Island is a South Korean reality show featuring 24 female police officers, bodyguards, firefighters, athletes, soldiers, and stuntwomen. They team up by profession to compete for survival on a remote island.

If you’ve watched all the episodes, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is Siren: Survive The Island Season 1 about?

As mentioned before, Siren: Survive The Island is a reality series depicting 24 different women that team up by profession to compete for survival on this island.

Throughout their stay, the women are physically and psychologically challenged, pushed to their absolute limits. All they have is a strategy and the will to execute it perfectly. It is an intense show of these amazing women’s fortitude and physical prowess.

Has Siren: Survive The Island been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Siren: Survive The Island has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. The completion rate is one of the most important metrics though, as recently revealed with the shock cancellation of 1899. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars.)

Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. It’s worth noting too that reality shows have a very good history of renewals on the platform. So far, Siren: Survive The Island has had a really positive reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many tuning in the past two weeks, desperate to find out what happens next.

Given how the finale plays out, we’re predicting that this will be renewed for a second season. With new competitors and a similar process, that could be perfect material for Netflix to give the green-light to. We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!

What we know about season 2 so far:

At the moment, we know nothing about a potential renewal but hopefully season 2 will be greenlit soon. Based on the finale, it is not over yet and we are desperate to know what is coming. It will be entertaining to see the new contestants in season 2  and if the games will be switched up a bit.

  1. Yes! I am praying that there will be a season 2. I watched Siren in just one day and left me wanting for more. I even researched each cast for the athlete’s team because I was left with nothing else to do. I was hoping for the team firefighter to win too but then the athletes has shown excellent sportsmanship and also were able to show how years of training helped them and their ally every time there’s a raid.

  2. Hi John. Glad you enjoyed the show. If you are looking for a new show, I would suggest Physical 100 if you are yet to watch it. Thank you for commenting and we will update you when Netflix announces a new season. Have a great weekend.

  3. I’m an American ( 76 years old ) and Not only me but my 4 adult kids and at least 7 or 8 of my adult grandkids got hooked on this within the first episode. Do I think that it needs a second season, H-ll ya it does.

  4. Watched season 1 back to back in one day.
Ending definitely alluded to new teams to challenge the champions.
Would be great to have a dubbed version also.
Korean challenge programmes are certainly addictive, Physical 100 being further proof.
Come on Netflix, dont cancel another great franchise.

  5. I felt like that penalty really hurt team soldiers. It felt like they were about 2 sneak up and take flag.
    POTATO!

  6. Yes, Siren Island should have a season 2 and go international too.
Just like Physical 100! This should go international too, Please… Netflix!

Love both these great Korean shows!

  7. Yes! By all means it needs to come back for a second season! The winners are standing in the arena and next thing you know the sirens go off. That’s gotta be means of another season, what else would it be? I think that’s what’s happening after Team Athlete won the competition. We’ll just have to wait like the second season of Squid Games.

  8. I love Korean TV and movies; rarely have I been disappointed. I also enjoy survival TV, so having just watched the first episode of Siren I’m already hooked! I enjoyed that they began with an all-female format, showing us girls can be bad ass too, although I wouldn’t want to cross paths with any of these ladies; huge respect to them. Here’s hoping the series is renewed, I’d be surprised if it isn’t.
