Renewed Or Cancelled?
Silo is the latest sci-fi drama on AppleTV, adapting the excellent Wool trilogy books. With an adaptation that’s largely faithful to the source material, its certainly been a thoroughly enjoyable watch. If you’ve finished the season, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Silo Season 1 about?
Silo is set in a dystopian future where men and women live in a giant silo underground, with strict regulations about going to the surface. With the outside apparently an apocalyptic wasteland, small slivers of doubt begin to creep in when old “relics” of the past show up.
Sheriff Holston and his partner Allison both stumble upon clues towards a deeper conspiracy, which is ultimately picked up by an engineer called Juliette.
But what is this Silo? Who made it? And why? All these questions are more are raised, setting up an enticing mystery to come.

Has Silo been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, AppleTV+ has not renewed Silo for season 2. Given Apple’s track record for renewing a lot of its shows, this one seems like a sure-fire bet for a renewal. The show is very popular and has certainly got people talking.
Generally Apple and other streamers gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Shantaram). Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.
So far, Silo has had a pretty good reaction from critics and audiences, with many loving the tone, feel and sharp production design for this drama.
Given the way the show is set up, we’re going out on a limb and predicting that this will be renewed for a second season. The first season is only covering the first book so naturally, there’s plenty more material to adapt.
There’s a great article over at RadioTimes that discusses this in more detail (which you can check out HERE) with author Arthur Howey saying:
“My sense is that if we try to tell all three books, the whole trilogy, it would probably take four seasons, possibly. But there’s a way to tell it in three and those conversations are just always ongoing.”

What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known as season 2 at this point as Apple have not made a definitive decision over the show’s future just yet. However, as detailed above, we believe this will be renewed
If this does get the greenlight, expect the story to cover the material in the second book, which we’re not about to spoil here! Suffice to say, it certainly opens up the world and the characters for some brilliant moments to come.

I’ve red the books 8 years ago, and the book’s were great, the series so far is good, keeps to the book Wool closely, a few different thing’s have happened, but thankfully it’s near enough to the book, I hope that they tell the whole story, all 3 book’s, but these day’s, new series come out and then counselled straight away, hope they don’t do that with this one, if not, then I’m very much looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd season, just wished they did all season’s of The Expanse.
