Selling Sunset is Netflix’s wildly popular reality series and it has certainly got people talking! So after watching this one in its entirety, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Selling Sunset about?
Selling Sunset is a reality show that follows the lives of real estate agents at the Oppenheim Group, a high-end brokerage in Los Angeles and San Diego. The series mixes in high-end real estate properties with a soap opera style, giving viewers a look at the cutthroat LA real estate market and the crazy agents who work there!
Has Selling Sunset been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Selling Sunset has not been renewed for season 9. Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.
So far, Selling Sunset has had a pretty good reaction from critics and audiences alike, as one would expect from a reality show like this. Some dislike the style of glorifying extravagant wealth (as has been the case since season 1) while others are all-in for the drama.
Given the way this show is set up, we’re predicting that this will be renewed for a ninth season. It has to be, right? The series is going to bring in a lot of viewers and that, in turn, will look good for Netflix’s completion rate metric too, which we know is important. Furthermore, it’s also a reality series too, meaning it’s relatively cheap to make.
What we know about season 9 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 9 at this point as Netflix haven’t officially renewed this one. Should it be renewed, we’d imagine that it’ll be commissioned with another 8 episodes and continue with the same format, showcasing even more crazy, extravagant houses, along with plenty of drama too.
