Renewed Or Cancelled?
Red Swan is the latest thriller K-drama on Disney+, blending drama, comedy and romance together into a deliciously tasty cocktail of ideas. If you’ve been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Red Swan about?
The show follows Oh Wan Soo, a former top golf player from a humble background. She marries the heir to Hwain Group and becomes the company’s ambassador. However, her husband’s affair and an attempt on her life give her a new perspective on her new life. She starts getting close to Do-Yoon, her bodyguard, but she wonders if he has ulterior motives for working at Hwain Group.

Has Red Swan been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Disney+ have not renewed Red Swan for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
The ratings haven’t been made public but we do know that its been a popular K-drama this year, and has been steadily climbing the ratings over at MyDramaList. However, despite its popularity, it’s extremely rare to find Korean dramas renewed for another season.
That has changed in recent years but given the sheer wealth of talent in this that are sure to move onto other projects, we predict that Miss Night and Day will not be renewed for a second season.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, it’s rare to find these sort of shows renewed. With the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
Having said that though, we have seen Taxi Driver and Tale of the Nine Tailed renewed recently, alongside Alchemy of Souls too. Given how steady the ratings are for this series, could we see this one buck the trend? It seems very unlikely that Red Swan will, but you never know! We’ll be sure to update this section when we know more.

It has run a course, for sure but there is still room for some more cool storytelling. I mean (spoiler alert) the ending between Wansoo and Doyoon is a positive one, I found it incredibly unsatisfying the way it just left them staring at each other at the airport. I mean…after all the crap they saw each other through- why weren’t they rapturously all over one another in a beautiful romantic way at the end, instead of smiling politely across airport buggies?!?
That being said, I still loved the series even with the lacklustre ending between the two characters. Gorgeous performances by the main leads and compelling storytelling.
