Renewed Or Cancelled?
Red Balloon is an intriguing melodrama with some compelling characters and a gripping hook. If you’ve been following this K-drama, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Red Balloon Season 1 about?
TV Chosun have been on a roll lately with their K-drama offerings and Red Balloon is no exception. In its simplest form, the show is about four people attempting to quench their desires and appease their heartbreaks.
These four people come from very different walks of life, doing well to inject a good deal of romance and drama into the fold.
Has Red Balloon been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, TV Chosun have not renewed Red Balloon for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
The ratings began with a pretty decent 3.74% share nationwide but since then, the show has been increasing in popularity with every passing week, with the later episodes hitting upwards of 9.4% nationwide.
Despite the increasing ratings, it’s extremely rare to find Korean dramas renewed for another season. That has changed in recent years, with the network’s Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) being a good indicator, but we predict that Red Balloon will not be renewed for a second season.
We’ll be sure to update this section with more details as they become available.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, it’s rare to find these sort of shows renewed. With the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
Having said that though, we have seen Taxi Driver and Tale of the Nine Tailed renewed recently, alongside Alchemy of Souls too. Given how steady the ratings are for this series, could we see this one buck the trend? It seems very unlikely that Red Balloon will, but you never know! We’ll be sure to update this section when we know more.

Nexxtt Season 2. This film is unic. Officialy Namchul And Eunsan 🥰🥰😍 i stil couldn’t believe this movie is end🥺🥺not ready yett🥺🥺🎈🥰🇰🇷🇮🇩
Cha won and Eun Kang getting back together was utterly disgusting
Let Ba Da forgive eun kang and but end the friendship.leave cha won. And they regret for what they’ve done. Mr Ji back to his wife n eun san migrate. Cant let the adulterer win..
I feel that this K-drama is severely underrated (abroad) and is actually one of the best to date. The ratings in Korea have recently hit over 10% viewership. The level of writing, acting and production is remarkable. If it’s anyway workable to prolong the series, I say they should absolutely do it. If not, end the series leaving everyone satisfied. Either way, Red Balloon is sure to be a classic. You can genuinely feel the emotion of these characters.
– Long live Mr. Ji and Eun-san.
STOP at season 1 with a gd closure. Let the couple stop divorce,. put ji hye Inn jail
Eun on becomes v messy and boring.
