Renewed Or Cancelled?
Ragnarok is an enthralling fantasy drama on Netflix, bringing the Norse legends to life in a drama that feels like a more teen-orientated version of American Gods.
With the third season having now finished, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Ragnarok Season 3 about?
Ragnarok season 3 picks up after the events of season 2. There’s a tenuous peace treaty still in play between the Giants and the Gods, but that threatens to be broken at any moment.
As the season progresses, Magne starts to lose himself to the power of Mjolnir, struggling to determine friend from foe. This eventually culminates in a climactic battle to determine the fate of Edda – and the world at large.
We have ongoing coverage of Ragnarok on the site, including episode recaps and a full season review. You can check those out HERE!
Has Ragnarok been renewed for season 4?
At the time of writing, Netflix have not renewed Ragnarok for a fourth season, nor are they likely to either given the third season has both a definitive ending, and was billed as the end to the show as well.
Generally Netflix, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.
Ragnarok season 3 has not had a very good reaction from fans and critics alike, with many lamenting that ending as one of the worst they’ve seen in a while. And we’re no exception over here!
The story is pretty much done, all things considered, and the nature of that ending means it’s unlikely to be green-lit for a prequel, sequel or spin-off. With all that in mind, we predict that Netflix will not renew Ragnarok for a follow-up season. And we know that this is the final season too so that’s unlikely to change any time soon.
What we know about season 4 so far:
Not much is known about season 4 at the time of writing, given Netflix have not officially renewed this one yet. Should the streamers decide to greenlight this one. As highlighted above though, this is unlikely to be at all. Season 3 was listed as the final series so it’s not going to continue any further than this.

I feel they could do a lot more on this show as there is so many adventures with thor and the rest of the gods
Should be s 4th season season 3 end is just too open there could be easily 3 more seasons if they are going to put only 8 episodes in these they should be more like walking dead with 20 episodes a season as there’s so much potential to continue this
I love it ❤️
The ending of season 3 made absolutely no sense.
