Pact of Silence is the latest sizzling Mexican drama, taking cues from The Stranger and other whodunits to deliver a deliciously twisted thriller, packed full of drama and surprises in its 18 episodes.
With the season now over, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Pact of Silence about?
Pact of Silence centers on a young and successful influencer called Brenda infiltrates the lives of four women to discover which of them is the mother who abandoned her at birth.
Desperate for revenge after living a difficult childhood, Brenda not only discovers the truth, but she unexpectedly finds love while also unearthing secrets that endanger her life.
Has Pact of Silence been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Netflix have not renewed Pact of Silence for a second season, although it’ll be interesting to see if this one does get the green-light, given how popular these Mexican dramas tend to be on the streaming platform.
Generally Netflix, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before a decision is made over a show’s future.
Pact of Silence has had a pretty good reaction from fans and critics alike, all things considered, with lots liking the drama and the overarching mystery.
A lot of these shows live or die based on word of mouth and it does feel like a show that’s going to do the rounds and become very bingeable, especially considering the 40 minute run-time for each episode.
Given the growing international catalogue on Netflix, we predict that this will be renewed for a follow-up season, although we will update this section when we learn more!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Not much is known about season 2 at the time of writing, given Netflix have not officially renewed this one yet. Should the streamers decide to greenlight this one then of course we’ll see all our familiar characters return, potentially with another set of secrets from the past prepared to shatter our characters’ seemingly peaceful lives. As highlighted above, we think this is going to be renewed but hopefully we get an answer sooner rather than later!

Really enjoyed this entertaining keeping you guessing series!! Hope they bring season two back really soon before we loose interest in waiting for something we enjoyed watching however let down with prolonged waiting to continue watching future series.

I think season 1 was great. Hopefully there is another season. I binged on the show in one day continually it was so enthralling.
