What is My Stand-In Season 1 about?
This is a Thai BL drama following the strange life of stuntman Joe who body doubles for Tong, a famous actor. In a relationship with Ming, he doesn’t realize that Ming sees him as Tong’s replacement. Not long after finding out, he dies in an accident on set.
When he wakes, Joe is in the body of another man, also called Joe. He manages to return to his old life as the new Joe and meets Ming again. This time, Ming seeks the new Joe, holding memories of the original Joe. Sound confusing? Let’s watch together and see how it all plays out.

Has My Stand-In been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, iQiyi have not renewed My Stand-In for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
According to the data over at MyDramaList, this has definitely been one of the more popular BLs to drop this year.
Despite the strong ratings, it’s extremely rare to find Thai dramas renewed for another season. That has changed in recent years but given the sheer wealth of talent in this that are sure to move onto other projects, we predict that My Stand-In will not be renewed for a second season.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Thai dramas are reserved to one season, it’s rare to find these sort of shows renewed.
Having said that though, we have seen shows like Kinnporsche really push through to the mainstream and the BL popularity is definitely growing. We’re predicting that this won’t be renewed but you never know! We’ll be sure to update this section when we know more.
