Has My Dress Up Darling Been Renewed For Season 2? Here’s What We Know:

Renewed Or Cancelled?

My Dress Up Darling is an endearing anima, blending romance, comedy, and slice-of-life elements to capture audiences worldwide. After finishing all episodes of the first season, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or canceled. Here’s what we know:

What is My Dress Up Darling Season 1 about?

My Dress Up Darling centers on high school student Wakana Gojou, who spends his days perfecting the art of making hina dolls, hoping to eventually reach his grandfather’s level of expertise. While his fellow teens busy themselves with pop culture, Gojou finds bliss in sewing clothes for his dolls. He always keeps his hobby a secret, believing he would be ridiculed were it revealed.

However, all of this changes when he crosses paths with Marin Kitagawa, an extraordinarily pretty girl whose confidence is in stark contrast to Gojou’s.

When Kitagawa discovers Gojou’s talents with a sewing machine, she confesses to him about her own hobby: cosplay. She decides to enlist his help, and as Gojou and Kitagawa work together on one cosplay outfit after another, they cannot help but grow close—even though their lives are worlds apart.

Has My Dress Up Darling been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, My Dress Up Darling has been renewed for a second season. Given how well the show has been received, that’s great news.

Via a post on Twitter (X), producer Shota Umehara had this to say about the renewal (roughly translated):

It’s not the second season that was planned at all, but the power of support from everyone who watched the anime and got excited, and everyone who bought various products! I have a lot of work scheduled, so I’m really busy with work, but as long as there are people who are happy to see it, I’ll do my best! ! !

Given the way this anime’s first season concludes, there’s much room to explore with a second season. Given this is an ongoing manga, there’s plenty of material to adapt and fingers crossed we don’t get a situation like The Promised Neverland, which deviated wildly from its source material!

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point since the official renewal announcement back in September last year. We can theorize that the second season will adapt material from chapter 40 onwards, especially given how the first season ended. Like the first, we can then expect a good 38 chapters or so adapted across the season.

We’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!
