What is My Dad the Bounty Hunter Season 2 about?

My Dad the Bounty Hunter is a Netflix original, with season 2 centered around a multi-facet storyline of family affairs, friendships, empire politics, and much more. The animated sci-fi-action-adventure has a lot more than anyone can manage to sink their teeth into with spectacular fight sequences and a beautiful family reunion story underlying it.

Season 2 unfolds as Terry gives up bounty hunting and working as a shoe salesman at a shopping mall. The old lifestyle is gone, but old enemies aren’t! This time the hunter gets hunted as Terry gets abducted by the Bounty Hunter named Widowmaker as ordered by an old acquaintance.

As duty calls Tess heads out on a long journey to find and rescue her husband, and given the kids nature, they find a way to venture out into space as well with the help of Blobby.

Tess later learns that Terry was kidnapped by her own father, the King of Doloram who didn’t mean any harm. After the families reunite they learn about a new threat that hovers over Doloram and a war breakout against the Conglomerate.

The season ends with the defeat of the Conglomerate. However, we catch a glimpse of the Warp Gate pulling itself back together, allowing a colossal spaceship to pass through.

Has My Dad the Bounty Hunter been renewed for season 3?

At the time of writing, Netflix has not renewed My Dad the Bounty Hunter for a third season. Given the nature of this animation series, that could change if it does good numbers for the streamers.

Generally Netflix, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before Netflix makes a decision over a show’s future.

So far, My Dad the Bounty Hunter has had a good reaction from audiences and critics alike, with the series easy to watch and full of action and drama. The show is currently seeing good reviews with a 7.2/10 rating on IMDB.

Nothing is known about the season 3, given this one has not officially been renewed yet. Should Netflix decide to greenlight this one, it’s fair to assume that season 3 will pick off where season one ended as the season closes with a glimpse of the Warp Gate pulling back together to allow a huge spaceship to pass seeming to be the conglomerate.
