What is My Dad the Bounty Hunter About?

8-year-old Sean and his big sister Lisa go over to their Dad’s place to spend the weekend. But when Dad gets a work call, they try to avoid boredom by sneaking into the trunk of his car, only to find that they’ve ended up in space. It turns out that Dad is not the truck driver they thought he was but is actually an intergalactic bounty hunter.

Much to Dad’s dismay, they tag along while he tries to nab his next target and get home before Mom finds out.

Has My Dad the Bounty Hunter been renewed for season 2?

So far, My Dad the Bounty Hunter has had a pretty good reaction from critics and audiences alike, commending the balance of drama and action.

Good news! My Dad the Bounty Hunter has been renewed for a second season! The first season was a hit, and considering that the first season came out in February of this year, Netflix is wasting no time in getting the second season released. 

What we know about season 2 so far:

Season 2 will come out on Netflix on August 17th at 12am PT, 3am ET, and 7am GMT. 

In season 2, the whole family will urgently head back to space for an exciting new adventure. But this time, it looks like Mom is going to take the lead, as Dad has been captured by an intergalactic enemy.

  1. My dad is a bounty hunter This show truly is a very fun, exciting, Adventure with mysterious, Things happen throughout the galaxy. While being courageous young kids trying to help there dad on what seems was going to be a dangerous mission, but they turn it all into a spontaneous fun time. This show is exactly like Family is in all reality. Family’s sometimes have there differences with things and of course different point of view’s. It’s good to teach kids that’s part of life, an kids should stand for what they believe is right thing to do. Mostly try to keep an open mind an not let your emotions get in the way. That way you see the true in things, and family is the most important thing in life an you stick together thick through thin. They always keep a positive thinking mind about things, and think before doing to have the best out come. It’s one of the best shows an keeps your attention all the way through until there master plan at the end. They do all things in this show that are educational for kids. It’s also shows kids how to work together and understand that sometimes you don’t understand things that are actually going on, to figure things out on your own. That things can be misinterpret also. Communication is one of the biggest things in every aspect of life, especially with a lot of things in families…
    This tv show is by far the best positive animated show I’ve ever seen. It has Great picture quality, and helps broaden children’s mind about everything in the world and universe that could be possible, and how to really use your head in every situation possible to know your doing the right thing, and making the best educated Choice.
    On a scale 1- 10 the worst is 1 in the best is 10.. my score an My kids give it big o’ 11

  3. This show truly is how family is in Reality. Family work against each other sometimes and work together also. This show it all in an incredible way. Not only for kids but for the family too watch together. This show keeps your attention all the way through the whole show. They do all things in this show that are not bad things to see, and are very educational for kids. It’s also shows kids how to work together and understand that sometimes you don’t understand things, That things can be misinterpret also. Communication is one of the biggest things in every aspect of life, with families most of all. One of the best things I love about this show, is to never give up on things. Kids sometimes need to push a little harder to get there parents to understand this in life, and with that said to also look out for each other. Never give up on doing the right thing for anyone or anything, too stick through until the end while staying strong an positive the best you can, to not let things get you down…
    I totally give this tv show the best positive animated show I’ve ever seen. There is so much more to say but I’ll save it other’s to put there point a view for this show. I’ll give this show out of 1 through 10, I give it an 11..

  4. I’ll be honest, this is without a doubt a fantastic display of animation. It’s fun, the writing is good and the action is surprisingly awesome. The representation of the split family that finds there way back together pulls on all levels of emotion. The drama is believable. The build up to that final boss battle was glorious in all its splendor. I don’t want to give away the plot twists. But this is a show that needs another season and if you can keep things rolling it the right direction, should see many more to come. Thank you from my whole family. We look forward to seeing more of this great show.

  7. I personally think there should be a season 2 of this series. The ending episode was not only a bit of a plot twist but heart-warming. I also loved that this series was about a black family and some “issues” that goes on in the black community. I love to see things like this put out there. I’ve related so much to Lisa. I really fell in love with that one on one conversation her and her father had, I wish my father and I were like this. This series gives me hope and endless possibilities of what might happen with me and my father.

  9. When I first saw this show when scrolling I thought “oh great just another kids show”
    But the ending was just.. I can’t. No words to describe it. Then as soon as I finished it I went STRAIT to this site because I wanna watch more right now so badly.

  16. We do educational shows in the morning and then from nap time until the evening we will binge the show over and over! Don’t be surprised if it makes it back on the top 10 because of us, between My Dad The Bounty Hunter and Boss Baby my two year old loves loves the show! We would love for you guys to renew another series. Sometimes I catch him cracking up at certain scenes of this show! LOL we going to run it up on szn 1 until we get our szn 2 renewal!

  17. My DAD THE BOUNTY HUNTER IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, OUR WHOLE FAMILY BINGE WATCHED THE WHOLE SHOW IN ABOUT 4 DAYS AND WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! WE ARE HOPING NETFLIX BRINGS IT BACK FOR A 2ND AND 3RD SEASON, IT’S OUR NEW FAVORITE SHOW AND IS THE HOTTEST SHOW OUT WE THINK. NETFLIX YOU HAVE KNOCKED IT OUT THE PARK WITH THIS ONE, THANK YOU.   21. I would love to see a season 2 to My dad is a bounty hunter. I just finished watching the first season and it kept me wanting to see more. The story line is authentic and very well made. Thank you for making the series and I am looking forward to season 2.
