Murder in a Small Tow is the latest murder mystery prcoedural, taking place in a small town as a variety of different situation and issues crop up, fronted by our dynamic duo of police chief Karl and popular-gal-in-town Cass.
After completing Season 1, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Murder in a Small Town about?
Based on the Edgar Award-winning book series, Murder in a Small Town follows Karl Alberg, a man who moves to a quiet coastal town after being battered by big-city police work.
However, this gentle paradise has more than its share of secrets, and while Karl embarks on a series of investigations, he also grows close to one of the women in town, Cassandra. Will romance blossom here?

Has Murder in a Small Town been renewed for Season 2?
At the time of writing, Murder in a Small Town has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Fox would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made. So far, Murder in a Small Town has had a pretty good reaction online from critics and audiences alike, and there’s plenty of source material to cover as well.
Given the way this show is set up, and the ending we receive, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. Why? Well, Fox are very trigger happy with their cancellations and unless a show is an absolute sure-fire winner, then they usually axe after the first season. Furthermore, the reduced run-time to 8 episodes rather than a conventional 13-24 episode run is not a great sign either.
However, we could be completely wrong too, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about Murder in a Small Town season 2 at this point. The ending does leave things wide open though. We could see more of Cass’ connections to Sacramento explored, and Karl could even go on the hunt for more of Cummins’ victims. However, we could also see a myriad of other cases crop up in town as well!
For now, we’ll have to wait and see what news comes form Fox but undoubtedly fans will be hoping for the best. However, we’ll be sure to update this page when more information becomes available.
