Has Mayfair Witches been renewed for Season 2? Here’s what we know:

Renewed Or Cancelled?

Mayfair Witches is a TV series adapted from Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches trilogy of novels. The series follows the life of a neurosurgeon called Dr Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario) after she learns she hails from a dynasty of powerful witches. She also finds out that for centuries her family has been haunted by a dark entity.

After completing Season 1, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is Mayfair Witches Season 1 about?

Season 1 of Mayfair Witches introduces us to Rowan who is a neurosurgeon but she soon learns that she is a witch. This turns her life upside down as she struggles to survive in this new world where magic is real and she is tied to a powerful dark entity that she must free herself from.  However, this is not easy to do given that the dark entity has been haunting her family for centuries.

We have extensive coverage of Mayfair Witches across the site, including a full-season review and recaps for every episode. You can find those HERE!

Has Mayfair Witches been renewed for Season 2?

We already know that AMC is planning for season 2 of the show. AMC Networks made an official announcement on 3rd February  2023. The show has currently given the network its most-viewed season of any series ever. It is no wonder that the network was quick to give the green light for a second season.  According to a statement released by AMC, the team is super pleased with the reaction of the audience to the show. In a quote from that:

“We are thrilled with the reaction to this series, especially in the wake of the incredibly strong reception to Interview, and can’t wait to bring the fans second seasons of both series in this rich, vibrant and expanding universe based on the works of Anne Rice,” said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks.

This is great news for fans of the show, and Mayfair Witches certainly has a lot going for it!

What we know about Season 2 so far:

At the time of this writing, we know that production on season two is projected to begin later this year in New Orleans. This means that season two is likely to drop in late 2023 or early 2024. Based on the ending of season 1, we will have a lot to cover in season 2.

Viewers are excited to see what happens to Rowan after having her child. We also want to see what happens to Lasher and if the relationship between Rowan and Ciprien will be salvaged. We have lots of questions that we need answers to. What is the burning question you want to see answered or something you wish the writers will cover in season 2?

  1. I love the show very much. I also like the vampire interview with a vampire also so I love anything that she writes. So can’t wait for both series to come back.

  2. I loved this show. Even though it didn’t follow the book to the T.
Don’t all shows or movies put in some items of interest or always follow the book.
    I can’t wait for season 2.
I’m really excited to see what happens to Rowan’s baby.
    What will Lasher do next?
I wish it would be ready sooner.

  4. Myself and many others who have read these fine books..would like to be reimbursed for time lost and wasted on this horrible show. We gave it more chances that it even deserved. Episode 1 2 and 3 not bad. After that..the story went far far away. Casting wasn’t even taken into consideration..just put in characters that weren’t in the books for no reason at all. Took important characters out. True followers know you didn’t read the books or take the time to make Anne proud. 70s Land of the lost special affects so cheesy. Seemed rushed..terrible. I’m embarrassed to have told people to watch it. We all deserve a sympathy plant. I can’t believe there will be a season 2..pure torture. Shame.

  5. It would be amazing to reconnect the order of the books “Lasher” and “Taltos” to the storyline. Ie..Rowan/Lasher/Cip (Michael? Aaron?) in the second season.
Every character in Anne’s Rice’s trilogy is connected even beyond the trilogy into “Merrick” etc…

  6. Loved the show ….intriguing , excellent storyline and plot. I believe Lasher is reborn through Rowan. Can’t wait for season 2. Just wish it would broadcast a lot earlier.
