What is Love Next Door Season 1 about?

Love Next door centers on a man called Choi Seung-hyo, who happens to be the most noteworthy young architect in Korea. He runs the architecture atelier “In.” Not only is he nearly perfect in his job, but he is also very attractive and has a great personality.

However, Seung-Hyo has experienced moments that he wants to erase from his life. Those moments usually involve Bae Seok-Ryu who has a complicated history with her.

Has Love Next Door been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, tvN have not renewed Love Next Door for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.

The ratings began with a pretty decent 4.8% share nationwide but since then, the show has been increasing in popularity with every passing week, with the later episodes hitting upwards of 6% nationwide.

Despite the strong ratings, it’s extremely rare to find Korean dramas renewed for another season. That has changed in recent years but given the sheer wealth of talent in this that are sure to move onto other projects, we predict that Love Next Door will not be renewed for a second season.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, it’s rare to find these sort of shows renewed. With the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.

Having said that though, we have seen Taxi Driver and Tale of the Nine Tailed renewed recently, alongside Alchemy of Souls too. Given how steady the ratings are for this series, could we see this one buck the trend? It seems very unlikely that Love Next Door will, but you never know! We’ll be sure to update this section when we know more.
