Love Endures (2024) is the latest C-drama from the Chinese network Youku which is known for exciting and thrilling shows like Derailment, Hidden Love and Love is Panacea. This corporate romance premiered in January and February 2024 and has a whopping 32 episodes.

The C-drama stars popular actress Yang Zi as the female lead, Huang Ying Zi along with rising idol actor Fan Cheng Cheng as the male lead Jiang Yi. This ensemble cast also includes Zhu Yan Man Zi, Wang Qian Yue, Fang Yue Qiao and Zhao Rui as friends who are part of the F6.

So, while watching season 1, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is Love Endures about?

Love Endures is a thrilling Chinese drama set in modern-day China. Based on the novel Who Do You Like At Seventeen by Ying Shi Liu, this romantic show has everything from slow burn and misunderstandings to high school friendships and injustice. Once upon a time, Huang Ying Zi, Jiang Yi, Fang Ming Yu, Zhuang Yuan, Lan Yi Fei, and Guan Chao were the F6 of Hangtian City as they were the best of friends and promised to be friends forever.

However, an accident had them separated during their college years. Now, 12 years later, when Guan Chao announces that he is getting married, Ying Zi decides to reunite F6 by getting in touch with all their friends. On the way, they realise that there were several misunderstandings that led to their break up and they go about unearthing the truth.

Has Love Endures been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Love Endures has not been renewed for season 2.

While the C-drama industry is changing its format, we are yet to see multiple season shows. The appeal of Chinese dramas is the fact that they have one long season with the full story and give us a satisfactory or at least a complete ending. This seems to be changing albeit gradually. 

There have been dramas like Joy of Life, Nirvana In Fire and Chinese Paladin getting sequels thanks to their roaring success. But they just may be an exception. It is unlikely that we will get Love Endures season 2 at the moment, especially since Youku C-drama sequels are a little rare.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Nothing is known since season 2 has not been greenlit. But if we do get a season 2 for Love Endures, it would be nice to see the aftermath of the friends hanging out together and being friends. The romance between the main couple, Ying Zi and Jiang Yi was quite wholesome as well by the finale and season 2 could explore their married life. However, season 1 ends on quite a positive note for each of our favourite characters and a new season honestly isn’t needed.

Of course, this is all speculation as there has been no official news regarding a second season. Keep an eye out for this section as we will update readers if there is any news.
