Lockerbie: A Search For Truth is the latest biographical drama, based on the book sporting the same name and following Jim Swire as he remains dead-set on finding out the truth about the horrific disaster that took the life of his daughter.
The show is undoubtedly a slow burn, but when you finish this one, you may be wondering if there will be a season 2 after finishing the show. Well, here’s what we know:
What is Lockerbie: A Search For Truth about?
35 years ago, one of the worst terrorist attacks in British history rocked the UK and wider world, causing widespread political ramifications and the loss of 270 men, women and children from 21 different countries
Until 9/11 of course, the Lockerbie Bombing was a huge and significant terror attack. 38 minutes after taking off, the plane exploded over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie. As a result, an investigation launched into figuring out exactly what happened – and why.

Has Lockerbie: A Search For Truth been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Lockerbie: A Search For Truth has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Sky and Peacock would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made. So far, Lockerbie: A Search For Truth has had a really good reaction online from critics and audiences alike.
Given the way this show is set up, and given the ending we receive, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. Peacock and Sky are yet to make an official statement on whether there will be a season 2, but we knew from the beginning that this is a limited series so the chances of this are very remote.
The show is based on a real event, which is yet to have been completely resolved, so we could see a rare case of this returning should there be more developments in real life. For now though, it would appear that Lockerbie: A Search For Truth is a one-and-done affair
What we know about season 2 so far:
The chances of a new season do feel quite remote here. First of all, the main plotlines have all been wrapped up, and despite that ending, we knew going into this that the show would be a limited series. There’s not much room for a new story, unless, as detailed above, we go the route of further developments occurring in real life.
Your best bet is to wait for Sky and Peacock to announce their next biographical project!
