Renewed Or Cancelled?
Knight Flower is the latest K-drama from the cable network MBC which is known for exciting and thrilling shows like Big Mouth, Kill Me Heal Me and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo. It also has a tie-up with Viki and Prime Video and is one of the first shows of the new year.
It stars Honey Lee aka Lee Ha-nee in the lead role as Jo Yeo-hwa along with Lee Jong-won as Inspector Par Su-ho. There are other familiar faces as well in this ensemble such as Lee Ki-woo, Park Se-hyun, Seo Yi-sook, Yoon Sa-bong, Jo Jae-yoon and Kim Mi-kyung.
So, while watching season 1, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Knight Flower about?
Knight Flower is the newest rom-com set in the Joseon era. Jo Yeo-hwa is a devoted daughter-in-law and widow by day. But what her in-laws don’t know is that she has a Robin Hood persona. By night, she roams the streets as a masked vigilante, helping the poor and punishing criminals.
But when she has an unexpected run-in with an inspector, it threatens to unravel her carefully crafted routine. Inspector Su-ho is a righteous official who sticks to the rules but also wears his emotions on his sleeve. All he wants is his adoptive brother’s approval and to bring the masked vigilante to justice.
We have extensive coverage of Knight Flower across the site including recaps for every episode. You can find those HERE!
Has Knight Flower been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Knight Flower has not been renewed for season 2.
While the K-drama industry is changing its format, we are yet to see multiple season shows. Sure, dramas like Strong Girl Nam-soon, Doctor Romantic and Taxi Driver 2 appear to be an exception thanks to their roaring success but it is unlikely that we will get Knight Flower season 2 at the moment, especially since MBC K-drama sequels are pretty rare.
What we know about season 2 so far:
If we do get a season 2 for Knight Flower, it would be fun to see more of the Myungdo gang and their misadventures with Yeo-hwa at the helm. A sequel could also explore the lives of the other secondary characters such as Yeon-sun and Yoon-hak, Merchant Jang or even Seok Jeong. We also actually wouldn’t mind seeing the aftermath of Su-ho and Yeo-hwa getting together as they just tease us with their reunion.
It is probably unlikely but we would also love to see an origin story of what happened those 15 years ago and everything that led to the events of season 1 such as Im Kang’s partnership with the old king, the rise of Pil and Lady Oh, and Yoon-hak adopting Su-ho.
Of course, this is all speculation as there has been no official news regarding a second season. Keep an eye out for this section as we will update readers if there is any news.
