Renewed Or Cancelled?
Kaala Paani is an excellent mystery drama, with a gripping storyline, plenty of likable characters and a dramatic final episode too.
If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Kaala Paani about?
Kaala Paani is an Indian survival drama streaming on Netflix. The story centers around a mysterious disease that comes down upon the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A desperate effort for survival collides with a race to discover a remedy, all whilst laced with human connections and a tale of love, loss and despair.
Has Kaala Paani been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Netflix have not renewed Kaala Paani for a second season. Given the nature of this series, and how it’s set up , that could well change depending on how well-received this series becomes.
Generally Netflix, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.). Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.
So far, Kaala Paani has had a very good reaction from audiences and critics alike online, with many loving the tone, mystery and drama throughout. The completion rate is certainly a point of contention here though, given we know how much emphasis Netflix places on this. Although given the reception this one has had online, it certainly looks good for the future.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Not much is known about season 2 at the time of writing, given Netflix have only just dropped the first series on the platform. It’s fair to assume that all of our characters will be returning should this be greenlit, and more mystery and thrills too.
However, we’ll have to wait and see what the official word is from Netflix on this one first.
