Interior Chinatown is a quirky and offbeat Hulu original, bringing together an all-star cast and an enticing crime drama, complete with good characters and nice little twists too. If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be curious to know whether this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Interior Chinatown about?
Interior Chinatown is based on Charles Yu’s award-winning book sporting the same name, following the story of Willis Wu, a background character trapped in a police procedural called Black & White.
Relegated to the background, Willis goes through the motions of his on-screen job as he waits tables but dreams about a world beyond Chinatown. He aspires to be the lead of his own story and soon he gets his chance.
When Willis inadvertently becomes a witness to a crime, he begins to unravel a criminal web in Chinatown. If that wasn’t enough, he also discovers his own family’s buried history and what it feels like to be in the spotlight.
Has Interior Chinatown been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Interior Chinatown has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Hulu would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made. So far, Interior Chinatown has had a positive reaction from critics and audiences alike, and this much is especially evident when you look at the reaction over at Twitter and IMDB.
Given the way this show is set up as a limited series, and given the ending we receive, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. The series has plenty of potential and although it has an endearing storyline, it seems like one of those that feels much more suited to being a limited series rather than an ongoing storyline.
However, we could be completely wrong too, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt.

Not much is known about season 2 at this time as the series hasn’t been officially renewed. However, if it does return we can expect more drama to come, with a similar 10 episode structure and, hopefully, more crime drama.

Yes, Interior Chinatown should be renewed and more than one more season planned. Terrific cast, interesting engaging plot and extremely well filmed. Love the show so much I watched the entire first season on the day it was released not to mention I had no previous knowledge of it’s release.
