Helmed by J.S. Nandhini, the 10-episode show, Inspector Rishi has been directed by her. The ensemble cast is led by Telugu superstar, Naveen Chandra who will be playing the titular role of Inspector Rishi Nandhan. Along with him are some familiar faces like Sunaina Yella, Srikrishna Dayal, Kanna Ravi, Malini Jeevarathnam, Aswath Chandrasekar and Vaishulisa Vallal. With shocking revelations and plot twists, the season finale had viewers on the edge of their seats.

What is Inspector Rishi Season 1 about?

Unexplained events and deaths start scaring the people of a small village located in the mountains to the extent that they believe they are being haunted. With these paranormal events being associated with the forest demon, Vanaratchi, even the cops refuse to look into the matter.

That is till Inspector Rishi Nandhan decides to investigate the murder and catch the culprit. A skeptic who believes that there is always something logical behind superstitions, he arrives at the village with his trusted sub-inspectors, Ayyanar and Chitra. However, they end up getting more than what they bargained for as Rishi starts wondering if there are indeed inhuman beings involved in the murders.

Has Inspector Rishi Been Renewed for Season 2? 

At the time of writing, Amazon Prime hasn’t announced the second season of Inspector Rishi.

Amazon Prime tends to look at views and the drop-off rates before renewing or cancelling the show, along with the critical success. Some shows are instantly renewed while others take years. But we are hopeful since Prime India tends to give at least 2 seasons for most of their originals like Mirzapur, The Family Man and Breathe.

What do we know about Inspector Rishi Season 2?

[Tread with caution as there are spoilers of the finale ahead!]

Not much is known about Inspector Rishi Season 2 at the moment given that it has not been greenlit. In the finale, our crew is able to thwart the bad guys by getting their hands on the antidote. There is a showdown between Sathya and Rishi underground with the latter winning. The miners are saved and Kathryn and her people are arrested.

They still aren’t able to solve the mystery of the truck driver’s death and believe that there is a real Vanaratchi with the last shot of her climbing the walls. This open ending allows for more material should the show be renewed. Or it can turn into an anthology of types with Rishi and his group investigating other paranormal incidents that may or may not have human culprits.

If the show does return, you can expect a season with approximately 10 episodes, each lasting around 50-60 minutes. However, nothing is confirmed yet, but we’ll be sure to update this page as soon as any new information comes in.
