If It’s With You is a sweet high school BL drama based on the manga of the same name by Kubota Maru. The drama tells the story of Amane Kaido and Ryuuji Yamasuge who meet in high school. The five-episode long mini-drama shows the beginning of their love story.
What is If It’s With You about?
If It’s With You tells the story of how Amane Kaido met Ryuuji Yamasuge and how their story began. Amane Kaido moves to Enoshima and stays with his grandmother. He knows that he is gay, but is not confident to come out yet.
He meets Ryuuji on his first day at Enoshima. The two become friends. As they start to spend time together, they learn more and more about each other. Amane starts to develop feelings for Ryuuji.

Has If It’s With You been renewed for season 2?
At the time of this writing, there is no official news of a sequel for If It’s With You. Since it is adapted from a manga, and it only shows the start of Amane and Ryuuji’s relationship, it can be assumed that there might be a sequel to chart the progression of their relationship.
The series is officially available to watch on GagaOOLala. GagaOOLala periodically drops updates of any renewals or cancellations of the shows currently in its library so we will, of course, keep you updated!
The drama delivers on the premise and gives viewers a cute and innocent series to indulge in. It is also different from other BL dramas for it cuts out the toxic tropes and takes a mature perspective in the story.
With just five episodes, the drama looks complete in itself. But we would like to see a sequel to the story. Amane and Ryuuji are too cute and lovely.
What we know about season 2 so far:
In the finale episode, we see that Amane and Ryuuji officially begin dating. Amane still has some apprehension about his sexuality. Though he is happy to be with Ryuuji, there are moments of fear and uncertainty he faces when it comes to revealing his dating status or sexuality.
But with Ryuuji’s support and understanding, we believe that Amane will be over his fear soon. Though it goes to say that it might also become a slight challenge in their relationship.
