Renewed Or Cancelled?
High Desert stars Patricia Arquette as a recovering drug addict looking to get her life back on track after her mother’s death. The Apple TV+ show is just about to air its finale and may have ended by the time you read this article.
After finishing all 7 episodes, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled.

What is High Desert about?
As well as dealing with her addiction, Peggy also has to deal with the demise of her mother, Roslyn.
Peggy’s husband, Denny, was arrested a few years ago for working in the drug trade and her entire life was uprooted as a consequence. She hopes to showcase her commitment to getting her life back on track to her siblings, Stewart and Dianne. As part of her journey, she joins up with a Private Investigator, Bruce, to pursue her newfound interest in the profession. Her ambition to make it big lands her in all sorts of troubles with Bob, a former celebrity turned “spiritual guru,” who has shady dealings.
What are Guru Bob’s shady dealings? What happened to his wife, Donatella? Will Peggy be able to win the confidence of her siblings and get her life back on track? All of these questions make up the central mysteries of the show.

Has High Desert been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, AppleTV+ has not renewed High Desert for season 2. Given Apple’s track record for renewing a lot of its shows, it’s perhaps surprising then that High Desert has been officially cancelled.
Generally, Apple and other streamers gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Shantaram). Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.
Despite mixed reactions, High Desert will not be returning. We initially predicted that there wouldn’t be a second season and now we have confirmation of that.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Given Apple has cancelled this one, it’s fair to assume that nothing is known about season 2, nor will there be any further updates. It could well be that Apple sell this one off to another streamer or network to pick up. However, the liklihood of that is very slim. If there are any significant updates, then we’ll be sure to update this section and let you all know.

The other comments already say – this was a genuinely good series, which good, fleshed out characters, and all the way through, completely original, and all the way through you never had any idea what would happen next – oh now is someone goind to find out ? Is this person going to get killed / injured and when each issue was resolved, it was pretty much never what you might have expected. I have no idea why this show was cancelled, maybe the viewing figures were not high enough, but I didn’t even find out about it until yesterday, and watched it all through in a single sitting. If anything, it was let down by poor promotion as the series itself was excellent. If we can’t have a second series, then at least a feature length sequel would be nice.
I loved it! The characters were unique, and I never knew what was going to happen next. What a great cast. I sure hope Apple changes their mind and renews it.
Really enjoyed it. Hope it still has a chance to come back.

That last scene cannot be the end. The least they can is have an episode to close it out. I also agree with others here that it is more original than most things streaming right now.
I’m gutted to hear that apple have no plans for a second season. This is the best thing I have watched in years. Patricia’s Peggy has so much more to give.

I loved High Desert. It was a different & fun dark comedy with great acting, interesting characters & story lines.
I really hope there’s a Season 2.
I would love to see where it goes from here! I love watching her get herself together… it reminded me of Shameless in a way! I’d love to see another season. I don’t like this ending being the finale.
Hooked since the first episode. Patricia is stellar in her role. Great cast… creative, entertaining story with perfect amount of comic relief to balance the stress and chaos in the story. Would love to see more.
Please bring High Desert back for a second season! The cast is fabulous! It’s light, fun, hilarious to see how and why “Peggy” will hustle next. I felt that there was plenty content to continue for another season. The house, the rocket that she is in, the PI business,..
It’s a refreshing cast has a great storyline for a series! Yes it’s quirky, different, but that’s what makes it a interesting series. Season 2 would be a interesting direction it could take in several take on the characters!

Man this was a good time and finally a show thats not to heavy and very funny and relatable. I hope they bring a second season. I love the originality of the script. I’m tired of the constant recreated story lines that show no imagination or creativity. I loved it!!!!
