What is Heavenly Delusion Season 1 about?
Heavenly Delusion is set in a post-apocalyptic world where, 15 years back, disaster struck human civilization, and now dangerous man-eating monsters roam the wasteland outside. Amidst this turmoil, an isolated facility shelters children and nurtures them in peace.
As a few among them find out about the world beyond their nursery’s walls, curiosity gets the better of them and they decide to investigate.
Meanwhile, young survivors Maru and Kiruko in the outside world band together in search for a special place called Heaven. The two hope to find answers to the cruelty they have experienced in their lives and in the world, which still remains in pieces.
Has Heavenly Delusion been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Heavenly Delusion has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change given how popular this anime is.
Generally Production I.G would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it, looking at fan reaction and then examining the drop-off rate. Furthermore, manga sales and how much of the manga has been adapted are also taken into consideration. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a final decision is made over the show’s future.
So far, Heavenly Delusion has had a really good reaction from audiences and critics alike, with most commenting on both the story and the vibes this series gives off.

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Production I.G have not green-lit a sequel officially. However, there are rumours floating around in the ether about this one coming back.
It would seem likely that the story would continue to focus on this fascinating and dangerous world, while also developing new characters alongside our main ensemble.
