Renewed or Cancelled?
HBO’s Full Circle brings the devilish talents of Steven Soderbergh back to the small screen. The mystery drama show features a star-heavy cast. Timothy Olyphant, Claire Danes, Dennis Quaid, and Zazie Beets play pivotal roles on the show whose maiden season ends with a doubleheader. The six-part series takes a leaf out of Soderbergh’s stellar filmography to revolve around a continuation of crimes connected to each other by more than just fate.
If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Full Circle Season 1 about?
Full Circle’s plot revolves around a Guyanese insurance service provider, led by Savitri Mahabir, and the matriarch’s unsettled scores. The entire chain of events begins with the death of her brother-in-law, Quincy. This compels Savitri to foresee a curse on her family. She goes back to her roots in Georgetown and is advised by a shaman, Mr Willoughy, to give shape to a kidnapping. This action has been requested by Clarence Joseph, the person who put the curse on the Mahabir family.
Jared Browne, the teenage son of Derek and Samantha Browne, is the target. Samantha’s father, Jeffrey Browne, is a famous chef celebrity. The kidnapping of Jared runs into complications as the abductors kidnap someone else in his place. Natalia. who is Savitri’s masseuse, concocts a plan with her brother Louis to save Jared’s life and instead replace him with a dummy.

Has Full Circle been renewed for Season 2?
Unfortunately, Full Circle has not been renewed for a second season by HBO. The decision is not new and does not come on the back of poor reception or numbers. The thought process from the start was to make Full Circle a limited series that only ran for a single season. It is unusual for HBO or any other streamer for that matter to transition a limited series into a full-fledged show with multiple seasons. As of now, HBO’s decision not to renew Full Circle stands.
Generally, HBO, like other cable networks and streamers, gauges numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before streamers like Apple TV Plus make a decision over a show’s future.
Season 1 of Full Circle has received acclaim from both the audience and the critics. Soderbergh’s vision and the performances of the ensemble cast have received praise, although the latent underpinnings and meanings of the show’s plot have made people some people uncomfortable. In its present form, the story seems to have an element of finality and does not warrant a continuation. So, as mentioned, we shouldn’t expect a Season 2.

I really would have loved to have a second season of Full Circle. The star-heavy cast…Timothy Olyphant, Claire Danes, Dennis Quaid, and Zazie Beets were so so amazing. This is very disappointing
