Viewers first fell in love with the relatable characters in First Responders when season 1 dropped in November 2022. Season 2 just wrapped up with high ratings, and we are keeping our fingers closed, hoping for a third season.

What is First Responders Season 2 about?

The First Responders follows the lives of officers in a joint police and fire department. Season 2 continued to follow the lives of the heroes from Season 1. First, we have the menacing detective Jin Ho Gae, who is talented at catching criminals and solving cases. There is also the gallant firefighter Bong Do Jin, who might seem heartless but is caring to those he cares for. Lastly, there is Song Seol, a compassionate paramedic who goes out of her way to help her patients.

Has First Responders been renewed for season 3?

At the time of this writing, First Responders has yet to be officially renewed for season 3.

The show has managed to captivate Korean and international fans and maintained top ratings throughout its run. Most viewers liked Season 2 better as the tear-jerking yet thrilling events kept them entertained.

Generally, networks gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made. We’ll keep you guys posted in the meantime though and hopefully this one gets the greenlight!

Given the show’s story structure, we might get a season 3, especially if the cast and crew are enthused to continue this one.

What we know about season 3 so far:

Since most viewers loved season 2, we might be lucky and get a third season to boot. The best part about shows like First Responders is that they have limitless possibilities for new storylines. A new season allows them to bring in fresh supporting characters and villains. Seeing our crime-fighting team go after the bad-ass criminals and take them down is always fun.

It would also be great to see how the new budding relationship between Ho-gae and Song-seol will fare. Who knows, we might get a wedding in season 3!
