Dance Brothers is the latest Finnish drama on Netflix, with 10 simple but effective episodes that see two brothers compete as dancers whilst simultaneously trying to run their own nightclub. After finishing the whole series, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Dance Brothers Season 1 about?
Dance Brothers, as one may have gathered from the title, centers on two brothers who want to become professional dancers. After a slew of rejections, the pair decide to open their own nightclub, Laundry.
That’s actually a pretty accurate title, as it turns out, given the brothers have a fair amount of dirty laundry that needs airing. You see, running a business is not as simple as just dancing the night away, and brothers Roni and Sakari find that out firsthand the hard way.
As the season progresses, all the usual clichés crop up, including financial difficulties, a romance between Sakka and a woman called Karo, and numerous disputes within Drastic, the equally accurately-titled name for the brother’s dance group.

Has Dance Brothers been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Dance Brothers has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix.
Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. The completion rate is one of the most important metrics though, as recently revealed with the shock cancellation of 1899.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.
So far, Dance Brothers has had a pretty mixed reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many enjoying the dancing but similarly finding it a little too cliched and simple.
Given the way this show is set up, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. The show has some nice ideas but one can’t help but feel this is unlikely to bring in big numbers for Netflix, given the wealth of other content on the platform.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not officially green-lit a sequel. If this is renewed, expect more drama and lots of dancing, not to mention further drama as the duo try to get Laundry back up and running again.
As mentioned above, we predict that this will not be renewed but we’ll have to wait and see what happens. We’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!
