What is Copenhagen Cowboy Season 1 about?

The show opens with a look at Miu, a quiet, contemplative and mysterious protagonist who says very little. Not much is known about her either, beyond some expository dialogue in episode 5, and for most of the run-time, she finds herself moving through Copenhagen’s underbelly of crime alone, moving from place to place with an emotionless expression and either helping or hindering different individuals.

All of this builds up to a finale that builds up a massive conflict to come… and then just ends.

Has Copenhagen Cowboy been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Copenhagen Cowboy has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. The completion rate is one of the most important metrics though, as recently revealed with the shock cancellation of 1899.

With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

So far, Copenhagen Cowboy has had a pretty mixed reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many pointing out the same as ourselves that the pace is very slow. However, others have heralded this as a masterpiece with its artistic vision.

Given the way this show is set up, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. This show feels very slow and laborious and we predict the completion rate may be quite low on this one.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. However, if this is renewed expect a very similar format, with the story moving into a big fight between the Giants and Miu’s gathering of girls.
