Renewed Or Cancelled?
Class on Netflix made its debut as a much-hyped remake of the Spanish show Elite. The erstwhile teen show offered a compelling mix of story, drama, and a critical look at how different social status divides people and changes their perceptions of those beyond the line on the other side.
The Indian version takes a similar tone and temperament and even though the end product is not wholly satisfactory, the show imbues the local flavour of class, casteism, and rampant corruption in the richest corporates well.
The show also takes on the challenge of exploring identity crisis through tender coming-of-age arches and how drug abuse plagues the youth. After finishing the whole series, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Class Season 1 about?
Three lower-class students from a burned-down school are given admission into Delhi’s most expensive school by the builders who are allegedly responsible for the fire. Dheeraj, Saba, and Balli are the small algae in an ocean of ideologies, money, and entitlement, coming up against the “elite” class at Hampton International.
Soon enough they win over some of the rich students and the two classes intertwined. But as history has taught us, they can never be one and the same, or equal. Suhani Ahuja, the daughter of Suraj Ahuja, a wealthy builder, dies at the end of it all and we see the events prior to it unravel in the series.
Has Class been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Class has been renewed for season 2 according to Netflix India.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point. However, expect the story to continue, with Balli taking the lead on the information he has about Sharan and Koel.
He had been a silent spectator in the entire murder case but he got the final laugh when he captured the couple running away from the parking lot at the same time Suhani was murdered. Even though Koel disposed of the bloodied trophy and shirt in the decrypt pond, someone is bound to discover them.
