The 12-episode series is helmed by Carmen Pilar Golden who is known for the iconic show Hawaii Five-0 and the Gossip Girl reboot.

It stars Kaya Coleman, Lisa Berry, Sagine Semajuste, Gina James, Akiel Julien, Gilles Marini and Mark Taylor. With shocking revelations and plot twists, the season finale had viewers on the edge of their seats.

What is Beyond Black Beauty Season 1 about?

The coming-of-age horse drama follows rising equestrian, Jolie Dumont who has just won a Grand Prix at the age of 15 and only seems to be rising higher much to the chagrin of her rivals. However, her life is turned upside down when her father, Cedric disappears, her horse is sold and she is suddenly taken from her lavish mansion in Belgium and dropped at a Baltimore ranch.

A generational-old ranch, belonging to her mother’s family, the Chambers Ranch tries to welcome Jolie but to no avail. With her mother, Janelle keeping secrets from her and her cousin, Ronnie giving her the cold shoulder, Jolie tries to make it back to Belgium on her own.

Has Beyond Black Beauty Been Renewed for Season 2? 

At the time of writing, Amazon Prime hasn’t announced the second season of Beyond Black Beauty.

Amazon Prime tends to look at views and the drop-off rates before renewing or cancelling the show, along with the critical success. Some shows are instantly renewed like The Boys and Fallout while others take years such as Made in Heaven and Outer Range.

Beyond Black Beauty ends on several cliffhangers but a decision will most likely be taken depending on the commercial and critical success of Season 1. 

What we do know for sure is that we will not be getting an answer at the moment.

What do we know about Beyond Black Beauty Season 2?

Not much is known about Beyond Black Beauty Season 2 at the moment given that it has not been greenlit. The show ends on several cliffhangers such as Sebastian using Jolie, Rashaad’s accident and Beauty’s sickness. There is also the Italian championship that Jolie qualifies for.

At the same time the story is new and fresh. The value and originality of this film needs for the story to continue to be told. Great acting, so well done. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

  16. This is the best show I have seen on prime as of yet. I love these family shows, especially from the classic black beauty. I love the fact that they talk about The history of the African-American people being part of the cowboy experience, The rodeo. Just the black experience that was erased from history. It’s nice to bring the truth. This is an excellent excellent show. I would love to see season two I please don’t leave us on this cliffhanger. We need to see this. Thank you for the great family show that deals in the lives of young people, adults, And how it can help young people facing a lot of issues deal with problematic stresses in their lives. Please continue with this show. This would be great and awarding.

  23. I would love to see a Season 2. This was a great story line with gifted actors presenting people of color in an area of equestrian achievement that is historically significant, but rarely presented.
