Renewed Or Cancelled?
And Just Like That is the long-awaited sequel to Sex and the City, noticeably missing the comedic wit of Samantha, although to be fair she does make a cameo appearance this season.
After 10 episodes of drama and romance, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is And Just Like That about?
The series follows the exploits of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda as they navigate their 50’s, tackling “that podcast thing”, Charlotte’s conflicting relationship with her daughter and Miranda’s new relationship with Diaz, whom we’ve seen a lot more of in this second season.
Carrie and Aidan also rekindle their previous romance too, leading to plenty of drama as a result!
Has And Just Like That been renewed for season 3?
At the time of writing, HBO have not renewed And Just Like That for a third season. Given the nature of this series, that could change if it does good numbers for the streamers.
Generally HBO, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision is made over a show’s future.
So far, And Just Like That season 2 has had a decent enough reaction from audiences and critics alike, with many of those unhappy with season 1 having dipped out already.
With a dedicated fanbase and plenty of drama in the pipeline, it doesn’t feel like the end for this sequel just yet! However, we’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!
What we know about season 3 so far:
Not much is known about season 3 at the time of writing, given HBO have not officially renewed this one yet. Should the streamers decide to greenlight this one, it’s fair to assume that Carrie’s actions will likely have ramifications for her, while both Miranda and Charlotte will have continuing storylines their side too.
It’s likely that HBO will make an official announcement several months from now, once the final viewing figures are in, but for now we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll be sure to update this section with more information as it becomes available.

More seasons please💕💕💕💕🌸
Love the show! More seasons would be great!
I have so many mixed feelings. Love the reboot and have watched all the shows avidly!! Love the addition of diverse women, who team up as friends with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte. All good story lines for sure! BUT, sometimes the show founders a little. Not enough depth — you’ve got excellent material to work with here, but you are not giving it the serious edge it sometimes needs. What about exploring Miranda’s sexuality concerns more?? And esp with Che!! What about making Charlotte a little less manic and dramatic, and more about enjoying life as a converted Jewish woman? What about more dating adventures with Carrie??? Going straight to “in love” with Aiden is ridiculous, much as we love him. It just blew past all their history — and doesn’t make sense for Carrie to immediately buy a new townhouse (although its beautiful) for them. And it doesn’t make sense for Aiden to want to try a third time. Would have liked to see more dating by Carrie. The story lines with Seema, Che’, Lisa and ? are all great, and should be more in depth! Too much forced comedic plots (Charlotte running around in a snow storm) for a teenager who should be old enough to buy her own condoms if she’s old enough to make the decision to have sex!!! Again, I love the whole reboot, but get into the weeds a little more. The contrast between comedy and drama was what made SATC so compelling. You’ve got a little too much going on in AJLT — spend some time with a good thing that you have!!
The show definitely can run at least 5 seasons. Growing up with the ladies is relevant, the plot is great, the characters are timeless and Max would be fools to not renew the series for at least 3 more seasons. It would be great to see Brady marry and see the continuity of where it all started. #TeamCarrieAndAiden
Love it. We need more seasons.
I love the reboot and hope to see season 3 4 5 and so on
I personally happen to love the reboot. I was skeptical at first since the reboot came out over 2 decades after the initial Sex and the City show had ended, but it grew on me, especially seeing all the old faces from the original show in the reboot. Don’t get me wrong, I sincerely miss Samantha’s character and I completely understand that the reboot cannot be exactly like the original Sex and the City, but I love the changes that has been made and the way that the reboot is taking things. The second season of the reboot has reminded me a lot of the original Sex and the City show and I am loving the reboot all the more. There just had to be a new foundation put down from the first season of the reboot before things could get back to what is Sex and the City fans are use to and I completely respect the writers and producers for doing that because in the end, the reboot is simply a continuation of the original show and the characters within it. Their lives will not be the same as they were in the original show. All that being said, I feel the show should go on!
I love it! I feel like I’m catching up with old friends! The more seasons the better!
No, I think it should come to an end. I loved the Sex and the City series and the movies & still watch them. I have watched season 1 and am watching season 2 but am not finding it to be very enjoyable & not liking where it seems to be headed. I really miss Samatha on the show & I think the new series is ruining What the original series was about and the characters. I have read that the show runner did not bring Aidan back to fail which seems to mean that he and Carrie must end up together. Carrie moving on to anyone only 1 year after the love of her life dies seems shallow and frankly, that person being Aidan is worse in my opinion. She turned him away twice in the past. It does not seem like what Carrie would really do. Let the show go….
