What is Against The Ropes Season 1 about?

Against The Ropes is a simple and enjoyable drama, one with bite-size chapters of around 40 minutes across its run-time. The story centers on Angela, who has recently been released from prison. In order to regain the respect of her estranged daughter, Angela decides to enter the squared circle and compete in Lucha Libre wrestling as a mysterious persona.

Has Against The Ropes been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Against The Ropes has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. The completion rate is one of the most important metrics though, as recently revealed with the shock cancellation of 1899.

What’s gonna happen now that Novia Negra knows her father is alive? What’s gonna happen with Sovereign’s broach? Those are a few things I bet everyone is wondering about. So Netflix has to do a season 2.

  18. Yes definitely needs a season 2. Everything so great…so many unknown endings and stories to reveal on each character. Can’t wait. And crossing fingers for this

  20. Just finished the last episode and watched it in less than 5 days (the ten episodes, and the last three episodes a night alone). There are many new stories from characters that had things going on on the last two to three episodes. So there is much story lines and character development to continue into at least one more season. Three will be perfect.
    So yes, two thumbs up as I chose on Netflix. Let’s watch more seasons. Please.

  57. They should bring season 2 for against the ropes because we need to know how rocio treat her mother after she found out that it was the novia negra. Also Angela needs to talk with her mother about why she chose to make Angela believe her father was died and much more.
