Red Swan – K-drama Episode 6 Recap & Review

Red Swan Episode 6 Recap: The Original Ledgers

Our recap for Red Swan episode 6 picks up where we left off, with Wan-soo’s car caught in a drone attack. Do-yoon puts his driving skills to use and does his best to dodge the bomb drones coming their way. Unfortunately, he loses control of the car when one of the drones attaches itself below the car and overturns it.

In an expected twist, we realise that the assassin is none other than So-dam, the female bodyguard. She leaves the site after the car overturns, hoping the car will catch fire and blow. Thankfully, Do-yoon gains consciousness before the car blows and is able to save the other bodyguard and Wan-soo. Sadly, the car blows and the metal fragments hit him on his back.

After the accident, the victims are rushed to the hospital and Do-yoon undergoes an emergency surgery. The media reports that the attack might be related to ISIS. In the meantime, the doctors are able to save Do-yoon’s life but So-dam still tries to kill him. Thankfully, the surveillance cameras in the hospital deter her from making a move. The first thing Wan-soo asks about when she wakes up is Do-yoon and Yong-guk is disappointed. On the other hand, Kyeong-ju heads to the police station to find out more about the attack. As expected, Tae-era and her mom try to use the publicity around the attack to try to restore their reputation, but their plans fail.

A day after the attack, the commissioner general drops by the Grand Palace. The Chairwoman demands to find answers but Mr Han later bribes him. He asks the commissioner general to blame ISIS for the attack, since it will be better for Hwain Group stocks.

In the meantime, Do-yoon meets with an old police friend at the hospital and gets the footage of the attack. Kyeong-ju reports that the police have no clear suspect, just some random biker, but they lost track of it. Yong-guk demands to be kept in the loop when the police discover more. He also asks Kyeong-ju to take more money to the 8-Star Gang.

Somehow, Mr Han finds out that Yong-guk is using the gang to hide his money and informs Chairwoman Park. The two get into a fight since Yong-min refuses to accept taking over the Wow Foundation. Mr Han tries to talk things over with Yong-min, but the latter refuses, saying the foundation is chump change. Yong-min doesn’t want it since it was set up to help Yong-guk take over as chairman.

Before being discharged from the hospital, Wan-soo drops by Do-yoon’s room and comforts him. She thanks him for saving her life and apologises. However, she asks him not to risk his life again for her. Do-yoon insists he will do it again and help her get revenge for Ju-hyuk’s sake. After returning home, Chairwoman Park continues to act indifferent towards Wan-soo, questioning why Do-yoon protected her so hard. Wan-soo is offended when Chairwoman Park says Do-yoon did it for money. The old lady also brings up the Chinese FDA  issue and informs Wan-soo that Tae-ra’s brother has offered to help. Wan-soo is taken aback but remains calm, saying she won’t let Tae-ra step up.

At the same time, Tae-ra’s mom drops by, but Ms Byeon refuses to let her inside the house. Wan-soo witnesses the commotion and steps up to talk to the two ladies. She cautions Tae-ra to stay in her lane or she will kick her out. Wan-soo then heads to the foundation and tries to convince her brother to give her the original ledgers of the foundation. Hyun-soo refuses and reminds her that going against Hwain will land them in jail or a morgue.

Later that night, we are shocked to see Chairwoman Park visiting Mr Han at his house to apologise for their fight. It turns out they have been lovers for many years. Yong-guk once caught them red-handed and Chairwoman Park didn’t bother to protect him from the truth. If our suspicions are right, Yong-min is Mr Han’s son. This time Yong-guk still sees his mom going into Mr Han’s room.

A few days later, Do-yoon returns to the house and has an honest talk with Kyeong-ju about his reasons for coming to Hwain. Do-yoon reveals he still suspects Kyeong-ju and Yong0guk of Ju-hyuk’s murder. Kyeong-ju comes clean about taking money to the 8 Star Gang after the attack. He reveals that Yong-guk had no reason to kill his dad. Kyeong-ju warns Do-yoon to be careful and denies having Ju-hyuk killed.

Later that night, Wan-soo sneaks into Do-yoon’s room and asks him to steal the original ledgers from Mr Han. Do-yoon warns her to stay out of the fight and promises to fight in her stead, but she refuses. The next day, So-dam spots Do-yoon sneaks into Mr Han’s house. Still, he manages to steal the ledgers and install a camera to get the codes for Mr Han’s safe next time.

By the time So-dam informs Mr Han about the break-in, Do-yoon and the ledgers are long gone. Do-yoon rushes over to the foundation and tells Wan-soo he has the ledgers. As they talk, police officers from the prosecutor’s office arrive with a warrant to arrest Hyun-soo for embezzlement.

The Episode Review

Yong-min and Ji-yeon’s marriage is something else. Ji-yeon is having affairs right in front of her husband and keeps demeaning him. He seems a bit bothered by her rudeness, but won’t divorce her. He knew what he was getting into and their union was not about love but ambition. In a way, it is sad because no one loves him. His mom, brother and father look down on him. He probably knows his real dad is Mr Han, but neither of them will acknowledge this.

The recent attack has helped Do-yoon and Wan-soo get closer. They trust each other more and Wan-soo is becoming more reliant on Do-yoon. There is no hiding that they like each other. Their mutual attraction is evident by the way Wan-soo openly embraces Do-yoon when they are in private. She doesn’t even bother to stop him when he hugs her or pulls her close. Lastly, who tipped the prosecutor and what will happen to Hyun-soo?
