Say Hello

Reasonable Doubt Season 2 Episode 2 starts with Jax and Lewis talking about her return to work. She asks Lewis to move back in, but he says he is thinking about it. It is Corey’s first day, and Jax is looking forward to introducing him to everyone. Crystal is weary, but that all changes after she sets her eyes on the man. We don’t blame her. Morris Chestnut can rock a suit! 

Although Jax is worried that the partners will be hesitant to welcome Corey, it turns out even better than she imagined. Corey comes from a family of legendary lawyers and has the charms to sway anyone. In the first meeting, he wins over all partners and within no time; he is in the big boys’ club at the office.

 After the introduction, Jax takes Corey to meet Shanelle. Jax is shocked after seeing how jail has affected her friend. Initially, Shanelle is not happy about Jax ghosting her, and then showing up with a new lawyer.

However, after talking one-on-one with Corey, she decides he is the right man for the job. Corey assures her that he has a plan and has been there for other women like her. By the end of the meeting, Jax is surprised that Shanelle quickly accepts Corey.

Corey hits the ground running, trying to change the public’s perception of Shanelle. So far, the public thinks she is a greedy,gold-digger who killed her rich athlete husband and trying to get away with it.

Later, Jax and Lewis go to couple’s therapy and talk about their lack of intimacy. The therapist asks them to go for a date night and try to get over the Damian situation. Before falling asleep, Jax watches a video of Corey’s interview.

He mentions that Shanelle is not posting bail because she has no access to her husband’s money. The ploy is supposed to help the public change the public’s opinion of Shanelle, but Jax disagrees. She undoes all of Corey’s hard work by convincing Shanelle to make bail. She offers to talk to the other girls and get the bail money.  

The women meet at Shanelle’s house and try selling some of her luxury bags and jewels online. Even with all these, they are still down, so Sally offers to talk to her husband about the balance. Sally confesses to her husband, Chris, and asks him to consider putting their house up. She feels guilty because she was the one helping Shanelle with her escape plan. Chris hears her out but refuses to put up the house.

A few days later, Jax and Lewis go on a date night and have a great time. However, they drink too much and fail to get intimate. The following morning, an angry Corey drops by Jax’s house and confronts her for sabotaging his plan.

He is furious and calls her out for getting too emotional and undermining his case. Lewis loses it when he hears Corey shouting and asks him to leave. He makes it clear that no man can talk to his wife like that, especially in her home. Lewis is so sexy for this! 

After somehow raising the money, Shanelle is released, and the friends reunite to welcome her back. Shanelle is happy to spend some time with the girls and her kids. They also cleanse the house of evil spirits and have a blast. 

In the meantime, Daniel looks into Tucker’s finances and realises he was hiding some money in foreign accounts. He recruits Carlotta to help him trace the money. Daniel reports to Corey that Tucker moved 30 million a few months before his death.

By the looks of it, Corey has fully settled into the new office and getting along with Daniel and Crystal. In a way, it seems they like him more than Jax. Speaking of Jax, she insists that she was right and Corey drops the matter.

On their third therapy session, Lewis disagrees with Jax that they had a good time on date night. He was disappointed they were not intimate. They get into another argument and the therapist asks them to try arguing without keeping scores. He gives them an assignment to set a five-minute timer and look into each other’s eyes.

Unfortunately, Jax fails to stay serious during the test and Lewis gets angry again. He opts to sleep on the sofa since he thinks Jax is intentionally refusing to be vulnerable. While arguing, he let it slip that he slept with another woman while they were separated. The next morning, Jax warns him to stop emotionally hurting her if he doesn’t want them to fight.

Later, she escorts Shanelle to Tucker’s funeral. Shanelle stands on her own when Tucker’s mom tries to start drama. She accuses the woman of knowing what her son did, but quietly watching from the sideline. Shanelle is taken aback when the protesters outside the funeral verbally attack her.

After the funeral, she admits to Jax that she is still scared. She asks for some alone time, saying she deserves to be in prison. Jax is jarred by the statement, but Shanelle refuses to say more. After Jax leaves, Shanelle calls someone and mysteriously says she is ready

At the same time, Corey visits Lucy to try to see what her game plan is. He hits a nerve when he mentions her habit of always switching DA offices. He questions if she is running away from something. Back at the office, Daniel learns that Shanelle was the one who moved Tucker’s money.

Corey thinks that there may be a logical reason behind the money. He asks Crystal to call Shanelle and set up a meeting. Given that Shanelle is having a hard time, Sally offers to look after her youngest daughter. Shanelle drops by with a bag and thanks Sally for standing by her. 

That night, Jax and Lewis finally get intimate, and Lewis decides to move back into the house. The following morning, Corey calls Jax to ask if she has spoken to Shanelle. She also gets a call from Shanelle’s cousin that the latter is missing.

Apparently, she put a note in her daughter’s bag that she had to go away. Jax drops by Shanelle’s house, but she is nowhere to be found. Corey calls Jax and informs her that news is out that Shanelle is running. He also tells her about the 30 million Shanelle stashed away.

The Episode Review

What an intriguing turn of events! Did Shanelle plan Tucker’s death? Why did she stash the 30 million into a secret account and where is she? Either way, Jax and Corey are in quite a mess and they will need to work together to find out the truth. There is also Sally. If she put up their house for Shanelle’s bail, she is in trouble too. 

Away from Shanelle’s fiasco, we have Jax and Lewis trying to work things out. Lewis is moving back into the house and they are finally being intimate again. Did learning that Lewis was with another woman make Jax realise that he also has his limits?

Well, let us wait and see if things will still work smoothly when she realises who the other woman is. Things are about to get interesting this season!
