PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Games Coming to PS4/PS5 in December 2023

Sony has announced the latest line-up of PS Plus Extra and Premium titles which will be made available to subscribers on Tuesday, December 19.

There are 19 games in total, with 14 games coming to the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus and 5 games coming to the Premium tier. Last month’s titles were a little disappointing but there is a big improvement in December, with such titles as Grand Auto V, MotoGP 23, and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin coming to Sony’s gaming service.

Grand Theft Auto V (PS5, PS4)

This game has been out for a while now but it’s a welcome addition to the PS Plus library nevertheless, especially if you’re a PS5 owner who hasn’t played the upgraded version. Presumably, this is being released to subscribers to drum up excitement for the recently announced GTA VI

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin (PS5, PS4)

From Team Ninja comes a brand new take on the Final Fantasy series that retains the RPG elements of the games while adding some meaty combat.

Step into the shoes of your favourite rider in this latest instalment of the bike racing franchise. Dynamic weather, ruthless AI, and the unpredictability of online players will challenge your attempts to rise to the top of the leaderboards.

Metal: Hellsinger (PS5, PS4)

Looking for a challenge this winter season? If so, we can recommend Metal Hellsinger to you. With its rhythmic FPS action and legions of demonic enemies, you’re going to have a tough old time with this one.

Salt and Sacrifice (PS5, PS4)

This follow-up to the Souls-like Salt and Sanctuary is another challenging title for experienced gamers. Craft powerful gear, gain unique tools and abilities, and take on the game’s powerful guardians as you journey through the merciless western frontier.

Moonscars (PS5, PS4)

There are lots of unforgiving worlds to travel through on PS Plus this month, including the 2D world in this challenging title that will push your combat skills to their limits.

Mega Man 11 (PS4)

Mega Man fans rejoice. This latest title in the Capcom franchise blends classic 2D platforming with a fresh new visual style.

GigaBash (PS5, PS4)

Social gamers will want to check out this multiplayer arena brawler which is reminiscent of classic games like Power Stone while adding it’s own neat twists.

GRIME (PS5, PS4)

How many unforgiving worlds can you get through in one month? If there’s nothing on TV worth watching this Christmas, here’s another unforgiving action RPG that sends you on an adventure through an unknown world filled with all kinds of terrifying foes. Good luck!

Tinykin (PS5, PS4)

Ant-Man fans might be interested in this puzzle platformer that puts players in control of a tiny astronaut who must journey through a sprawling ant-sized metropolis. Platforming mixes with Pikmin-style antics in this fun adventure.

Prodeus (PS5, PS4)

This retro-shooter is reminiscent of Doom so if you’re craving some old-school action with a few modern touches, Prodeus is worth a play, be that alone in sole mode or with others in the co-op and competitive multiplayer modes.

Shadowrun Returns (PS5, PS4)

The original Shadowrun has gained a cult following since its creation nearly 25 years ago and if you’re a fan of the previous Cyberpunk-inspired RPGs in this series, you’ll want to dive into this modern update of the classic games of old.

The Director’s Cut of the Daggerfall campaign, which originally premiered as an expansion for the aforementioned tactical RPG Shadowrun Returns.

Mega Man Legacy Collection (PS4)

A mega-treat for any fan of the Megaman series! This collection contains the original six Mega Man games, a brand new Challenge Mode that remixes gameplay segments from these titles, and a Museum Mode that offers a comprehensive history of the franchise.

Admittedly, this isn’t on par graphically with recent rollercoaster simulation titles but if you remember this game with fondness, you’ll want to dive back in and create the theme park rides of your dreams.

Thrillville: Off the Rails (PS2)

We don’t know why we need two rollercoaster simulations on PS Plus in the same month but we’re guessing theme park fanatics won’t complain. This is the better title of the two due to its improved visuals, extra customization features, and a story that ties together 100 missions.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (PS1)

Played from a third-person perspective, this classic title takes you to infinity and beyond as you take on the role of the titular space ranger during his journey across multiple planets in search of a galaxy’s worth of villains.
