Sony has announced the latest line-up of PS Plus Essential titles which will be made available to subscribers on Tuesday, November 7.

These are on top of the PS Plus Extra and Premium games that were made available to subscribers in October, which included Gotham Knights, Disco Elysium, and Alien: Isolation.

Mafia II: The Definitive Edition

If you’re a fan of such movies as The Godfather, Goodfellas, and The Irishman, then this might be the game for you. This game is a remastered version of a title that was originally released on the PS3 in 2010, with upgraded audio and visuals and three pieces of DLC to improve your gaming experience.

At launch, the game was criticized for being buggy and for its lacklustre 4K visuals but we’re hoping the game’s developers have managed to fix some of the problems that plagued the initial release.

Official Description:

“For the first time ever experience the Mafia II crime drama all in one package, remastered and presented in stunning HD detail. Live the life of a gangster during the golden era of organized crime.

War hero Vito Scaletta becomes entangled with the mob in hopes of paying his father’s debts in Post-World War 2 Empire Bay, NY, a city sprawling with opportunity and where organized crime thrives on the booming industries of post-war America. Alongside his buddy Joe, Vito works to prove himself, climbing the family ladder with crimes of larger reward, status and consequence.” (source)

Features:

  • Realistic controls for context-sensitive situations
  • Over 50 highly detailed vehicles

Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Fans of sci-fi horror were treated to a couple of fine games on PlayStation Plus in October with the release of Alien: Isolation and The Callisto Protocol on Sony’s subscription services. Those games provided solo experiences but Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a third-person survival shooter that can be played with up to 2 other players. So, if you were too terrified to play the aforementioned games alone but want to try your hand at a horror title, you might want to try out this title which is set in the Alien universe.

Official Description:

“Discover what hides in the ruins and caves beneath in this third-person survival shooter set in the Aliens universe. Play with up to two players or AI as you battle through four campaigns to explore the mystery of a new planet, LV-895. Build your Marine the way you want. Level up in each of six unique classes or be a master of one.

Choose your weapon – everything from magnums and SMGs to rocket launchers – and use over 130 unique perks to create the build of your choice. Build your fireteam focusing on class composition, consumables, and weapons to take down Xenomorphs, beat Challenge Card runs, or play various game modes with friends. Blast through hordes of Xenomorphs, evade deadly Prowlers and Spitters, and set up defensive positions to stay alive long enough to get your fireteam to safety.” (source)

Features:

  • Play with up to two others or AI
  • Face off against alien creatures from the movies
  • Level up your weapons and abilities

Dragon Ball: The Breakers

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is an asymmetrical 1 verses 7 multiplayer title that is based on the beloved anime and manga. The game includes two modes, Survivors and Raider, that will see you trying to avoid the onslaught of iconic Dragon Ball villains. Teamwork is key to winning this title and so is tactical gameplay so don’t expect this game to be a complete walk in the park when you’re playing on or offline with others.

Official Description:

“Caught in by an unexpected temporal phenomenon, seven ordinary citizens find themselves stranded in a Temporal Seam: they share their imprisonment with the Raider, a menacing enemy from another timeline with an overwhelming power.

Their only hope for survival is to break out from the Temporal Seam with the Super Time Machine, but the Raider is on their tracks and becomes stronger minutes-by-minutes.

In a race against time the cunning of Survivors clashes with the power of the Raider, to break free or be broken. (source)

Features:

  • Play as a raider or survivor
  • Enjoy unique power-ups and items
  • Cooperate with others or go it alone
