Mighty Mission – The Rescue
Once you enter this stageplay, you’ll enter a cutscene involving Peach and several Theets and spacecraft characters. Then, you’ll regain control over Peach. When you do, move Peach around via your controller’s analog stick. Press the B button to attack any nearby enemies.
Be sure to attack all the enemies who have abducted several Theets. You’ll retrieve the 1st Sparkle Gem after this section ends. During this section, you’ll be flying past several asteroids too. Try your best to maneuver through those asteroids. Eventually, you’ll spot an enemy who abducted the top hat Theet. Defeat that enemy. The top hat Theet will reward you with the stageplay’s ribbon.
After you save that Theet, continue navigating right. Remember to save every Theet from the respective spacecraft that abducted them. Eventually, you’ll receive the 1st Sparkle Gem from the Theet shown below.
After that, a bigger robot and a few spacecraft enemies will arrive on the scene. Defeat the spacecraft enemies first. Then, when the robot throws a punch at you, punch his fist. His fist will collide with him, damaging him. Once damaged, attack the robot again. Peach will grab him.
Hold your analog stick to your right. Peach will swing him around to defeat some upcoming spacecraft enemies. After that, repeatedly press the B button. Peach will toss the robot to the right. After this cutscene ends, you’ll earn the 2nd and 3rd Sparkle Gem.
Another cutscene occurs. Peach and her friends will arrive on the planet nearby. When it ends, navigate her to the right. After you defeat a wave of Sour Bunch enemies, grab the car on your right and toss it.
Then, head to the top right corner and pose with Peach. You’ll arrive in a new area featuring some Theets and a few spacecraft enemies. Defeat the enemies. You’ll earn the 4th Sparkle Gem by doing this.
When you receive the gem, pose in the area’s spotlight to escape. You’ll return to the previous area. When you do, head right with Peach. You’ll enter the next section. When you do, keep heading right. You’ll enter a new cutscene and be tasked with fleeing from a giant robot. Keep heading right.
While heading right, grab any vehicle you see and throw it at the giant robot. He’ll appear to the left of you. Behind one of the cars is the 5th Sparkle Gem. After you throw that car, navigate Peach to that gem to claim it.
Keep heading right. You’ll stumble upon a bus. Grab the bus and wait for the Theets to travel underneath it. Then a quick time event will occur. When the time is right, press the B button to throw the bus at the giant robot. The Theets will reward you with the 6th Sparkle Gem afterward.
Keep heading right to exit this section. When you arrive in the next section, keep heading right. A new cutscene occurs involving a few Sour Bunch enemies and our heroes. Defeat the wave of Sour Bunch enemies. Afterward, head to the building in the back to trigger a cutscene. The Theets from past and present will huddle toward Peach. Then, the giant robot from earlier will transform and challenge you to a duel.
The scientist Theet and his allies will use their device to transform Peach into a giant woman so she can combat this large robot. During this fight, you’ll want to punch the giant robot’s fist as soon as it’s near you. He’ll appear on the left and you on the right.
While you’re punching his fist back at him, move Peach to the left. You want her to be next to the giant robot. When you’re near this abomination, press the B button. Peach will grab the robot. When the time is right, press the same button again.
Peach will hurl the robot to the right. The robot will rush toward Peach. When the time is right, press the same button we’ve been pressing to defeat this robot. You’ll earn the final Sparkle Gem and this victory screen afterward.
When the usual cutscene ends, head to the top left stageplay titled “A Kung Fu Legend” and enter it.
A Kung Fu Legend
As soon as you enter this stageplay, wait for the cutscene to end. You’ll gain control over Peach afterward. When you do, head to the right and press the B button to attack that door. When it’s opened, head right. You’ll be required to defeat several Sour Bunch adversaries in that area.
Defeat them and head to the tiny, dimly-lit open area in the top right corner. You’ll enter a new area. A top hat Theet is trapped inside a pile of jars. Destroy the obstacles to save that Theet. He’ll reward you with this stageplay’s ribbon.
Next, exit the area via the pathway on your left. When you’re in the previous location, head toward the entrance on your right. A new cutscene occurs. In it, several Sour Bunch enemies are abducting a female Theet. Once it ends, defeat the Sour Bunch enemies in your location. Feel free to use the kung fu poles in that area to defeat them swiftly.
Remember to jump toward those poles and hold your analog stick to the left or right. Jump in either direction to head in your preferred direction afterward, too. After you defeat the Sour Bunch enemies, head to your right and use the staircase to reach the next floor level. Then, turn left and use a kung fu pole to reach the left side.
You’ll arrive in an area where there are more enemies. Defeat them. Also, there’s a special yellow pole in this area. When Peach uses it she’ll spin around vertically. She can also defeat any nearby enemies while using this pole. Feel free to use that to defeat the enemies faster. When the enemies are gone, use the pole to reach a wooden platform on your right.
Next, head right and defeat the enemies in that area. Afterward, keep heading right, you’ll enter a door that’ll take you to the next part of the building you’re in. More enemies will arrive so defeat them. Once defeated, keep heading right. Use the yellow poles to defeat more enemies. Eventually, you’ll arrive near the Sour Bunch enemy who abducted that female Theet.
Defeat that Sour Bunch enemy. The female Theet will reward you with the 1st Sparkle Gem shown above. Head through the door on your right to exit this building. Once outside, another cutscene will occur. In it, more Sour Bunch enemies are fleeing the area with a few female Theets in their grasp.
When the cutscene ends, head right. The same kung fu master boss from the previous stageplay will arrive and challenge you to a duel. Like last time, you must parry his attacks. Press the B button when the time is right. When he’s dazed, press that button again. Peach will knock him into the wall and earn the 2nd Sparkle Gem.
The boss will flee somewhere. After that cutscene ends, head right and defeat the enemies on this floor level. When you spot a wooden pole nearby, attack it. A yellow pole will appear above you. Use it to reach the platform on your left. Keep heading left and break that side’s wooden pole after you defeat some enemies.
Use the two yellow poles above you to reach the right side’s platform. When you do, head right, defeat some enemies, and break the right side’s wooden pole. Three yellow poles will appear above you. Use those poles to ascend to the platform on the right. When you land on that platform, keep heading right and break that wooden pole to the right of you.
The Sour Bunch enemy who was carrying the female Theet will plummet to the ground. Defeat him. The female Theet will reward you with the 3rd Sparkle Gem and will open the door on the right for you. Enter that door to flee this section.
When you enter the next room, another cutscene occurs. It includes those Theet kidnappers. When it ends, navigate Peach to the kung fu pole on the right. Make sure you’re holding the analog stick in the proper direction to continue using that pole.
While you’re using it, you’ll defeat several Sour Bunch enemies. Once you reach the bottom, head to the top left corner of your screen and pose with Peach. She’ll enter a hidden area. In it, she must use the area’s yellow poles to ascend to the top. You’ll spot the 4th Sparkle Gem in the top right corner. Make sure to nab that gem before you leave.
When you return to the previous location, head right and use that side’s pole to descend to this area’s bottom level. Once you’re at the bottom, head right and defeat the Sour Bunch kidnapper. The female Theet he abducted will reward you with the 5th Sparkle Gem.
This next part will be a bit tricky, but we’ll explain it to the best of our ability. Head to your right and use the first yellow pole in that area. While using it, jump to the kung fu pole on your left. While using the kung fu pole, jump to your left and land on the platform to the left of it. When you’re on the platform, jump toward the same kung fu pole again.
While you’re using it, jump to the second yellow pole. While you’re using that pole, jump toward the same kung fu pole. While you’re using the kung fu pole again, jump to the third yellow pole above the second one. When you’re using the third yellow pole, jump to the platform on your right.
After that, jump toward the kung fu pole on your right. Several diamond Sparkle fragments will appear. While using the pole, collect all the diamond Sparkle fragments. You’ll not only receive the 6th Sparkle Gem, but you’ll defeat several Sour Bunch enemies on the bottom too.
After you receive your reward and defeat the enemies available, head through the door on your right. You’ll arrive outside. Follow the respective pathway on your right and enter the new building that’ll appear during your travels. Once you enter it, defeat the final Sour Bunch kidnapper. A new cutscene occurs. The female Theets will arrive on the scene alongside the stageplay’s boss.
The boss will throw purple spheres at you. This may remind folks of Street Fighter’s Ryu and his Hadokens. Anywho, when the boss’s orbs are near you, press the B button. Peach will reflect his attacks. Repeat this step five times. The boss will rush at you. Parry his respective attacks with the same button. When he’s immobilized, press the same button again.
Peach will combo this villain to oblivion, earning herself the final Sparkle Gem. Like previous stageplays, you’ll receive a victory screen highlighting your achievements.
After that, the usual cutscene plays. When that cutscene ends, head to the stageplay in the top right corner called “A Parade on Ice” and enter it.
A Parade on Ice
When you enter this stageplay, head right. A cutscene will occur involving several Sour Bunch enemies. Defeat them by twirling on them. You can do so by pressing the B button.
Once you defeat those enemies, Peach will earn herself the 1st Sparkle Gem shown above. A few Theets will arrive and tell Peach they plan to restart the parade. After they hand you a few hearts, the parade commences.
During this portion, you’ll be asked to twirl on the blue snowflakes that appear. While twirling on the blue snowflakes, you’ll fill up the gauge for the float behind Peach. Also, you’ll be tasked with defeating some Sour Bunch enemies. Some will be performing on the float. If they do, they’ll lower your float’s gauge. Therefore, twirl on those enemies to defeat them.
Also, there will be several holes around. Try to avoid those. Additionally, you’ll be tasked with jumping over a yellow emblem. This will appear near a platform the 2nd Sparkle Gem is hovering over. When the emblem is near the gem’s location, jump on it. You’ll land or jump over the gem’s platform. Try to nab that gem as I did below.
Also, if you fill up the float’s gauge it’ll be like mine as shown above. After this part, keep twirling on enemies and blue snowflakes. Eventually, several Theets will arrive on the scene. Twirl on the Theets that glow up.
They will glow up in pairs. Each time you twirl on those pairs, they’ll each give you one diamond Sparkle fragment. After you twirl on all the pairs and retrieve those fragments, you’ll receive the 3rd Sparkle Gem.
After that, continue twirling over blue snowflakes and Sour Bunch enemies. Also, avoid falling into any holes that will appear. Eventually, you’ll spot a top-hat Theet. Two Sour Bunch enemies are terrorizing him. Twirl on those enemies to save the Theet. He’ll reward you with this stageplay’s ribbon. Once you retrieve the ribbon, keep twirling on any enemies and blue snowflakes.
Also, things are going to get a little chaotic now. Eventually, you’ll be tasked with jumping over a yellow emblem again. Jump over it. You’ll retrieve the 4th Sparkle Gem by doing this. Keep heading right.
Eventually, the Theets will return and a rainbow emblem will appear on the float. Navigate Peach toward that emblem and jump on it. She’ll pose with the Theets and earn herself the 5th Sparkle Gem.
Another cutscene will occur seconds later. In it, the figure skater boss from before returns. All the Theets and people in the crowd will be upset. Once this cutscene ends, head to the pile of stars in the bottom right corner. Pose with Peach there. She’ll arrive in a new area. Jump over several yellow emblems and twirl on the blue snowflakes. Once you complete this process, you’ll earn the 6th Sparkle Gem.
As always, navigate Peach to the spotlight to depart from this area. Once you return to the previous area, navigate Peach up the ice-covered pathway in the back. You’ll exit this section of the stageplay. When you reach the next section, keep heading right. You’ll eventually arrive near the stageplay’s boss. He’ll challenge you to a figure skater-themed duel.
This battle is similar to our previous battle with him. This time he’ll have some Sour Bunch allies causing problems, too. Like last time, wait for the boss to perform his twirl tactic. He’ll dizzy himself out and stars will start floating over his head. When he’s in this state, navigate Peach to the boss and twirl on him. She’ll toss him to the right of her. The boss will collapse and his Sour Bunch allies will vanish.
The Theets under his control will scatter. Navigate Peach toward those Theets and twirl on them. Eventually, the boss will get up and continue his performance. Once again, when he dizzies himself out, skate over to him and twirl. After that, twirl on the remaining Theets you haven’t twirled on yet. Once you obtain them all, the boss will travel to the middle.
When he does, head toward him. When you’re near him start moving in a circle as I did above. As such, Peach and her Theets will skate around him swiftly and pose. The boss will vanish and she will earn the final Sparkle Gem. Also, you’ll receive this victory screen.
When the usual cutscene concludes, navigate Peach to the stageplay in the bottom right corner called “Blight of the Sea” and enter it.
Blight of the Sea
When you enter this stageplay, Peach notices a ship in the distance, carrying several mermaid Theets away. Once you regain control over her, head to the lone fish in the image above. Remember to press and hold the B button to command the fish. Once he’s in your control, you can move your analog stick in either direction to move him.
Peach will remain stagnant during this process. However, when you release your grip on the fish, he will accompany you to different locations, even if you’re not commanding it. With that out of the way, head to the top left corner of your screen. Use Peach’s mermaid powers to entice your fish to open the shell in that area. Doing so will free the top hat Theet inside. He’ll reward you with the stageplay’s ribbon.
Next, navigate Peach to the right. Use your mermaid powers to cheer up any Theets and to open clams during your venture. Eventually, you’ll stumble upon a spotlight. There are yellow and pink starfish lying on the ground in that area.
Pose with Peach to enter a hidden area. Navigate Peach to the top. While you’re ascending this area, cheer up the four Theets in that area using Peach’s mermaid powers. The Theets will reward you with the 1st Sparkle Gem.
As always, navigate Peach to this hidden area’s spotlight to return to the previous location. Once there, head right and use Peach’s mermaid powers to cheer up more Theets and open clams. You’ll likely open up a clam carrying the 2nd Sparkle Gem inside it.
You’ll automatically earn this gem by opening that clam. Refer to the image below to see which clam held the Sparkle Gem. As you can see, I obtained this Sparkle Gem first. Then, I went ahead and got the one in the hidden room.
That fun fact aside, keep heading right and repeating your mermaid power activities. Eventually, you will find this section’s exit. Enter that area to flee from this section. The next area involves some side-scrolling shenanigans.
That said, keep heading right. Try to use your mermaid powers to open up this area’s clams. Also, try to cheer up any Theets you see. The 3rd Sparkle Gem is hidden inside the clam where I have my fish placed in the image below. Be sure to navigate your fish to that clam swiftly.
Another fun fact. I perished during this portion a lot. Nonetheless, as long as you navigate your fish to the clam where I have mine placed and open it, you’ll get that Sparkle Gem. Nevertheless, keep heading right, cheering Theets up, and maneuvering through this strange section.
Try your best to avoid the falling rocks. Eventually, this section’s side-scrolling antics will cease. When they do, navigate Peach to the right to exit it. You and your fish will arrive in the next area. In it, a Sour Bunch mermaid will challenge you to a duel. He’ll surround himself with a few rocks and will throw those rocks at you.
Dodge those rocks. There will be a small opening in the Sour Bunch’s enemy’s way. Use Peach’s mermaid powers to navigate her fish through that gap and toward the Sour Bunch enemy. The fish will defeat the enemy for you. After that, more Sour Bunch enemies will arrive soon. Use the same method to defeat them. After you defeat those enemies, you’ll receive the 4th Sparkle Gem as I did above.
Once the ship comes near you, enter the portion that’s glowing. Peach will enter the ship. When she does, head to the left. Stop when you see a prison full of aquatic life and Theets. Use Peach’s mermaid powers to command the fish inside. Lead those fish to a gate on your right. It’ll be embedded into the ground. Have the fish travel through the gate. They’ll net you the 5th Sparkle Gem shown below.
After they get that for you, navigate the fish out of that area. Next, proceed to the wooden plank area at the top. Command the fish to open that up with Peach’s mermaid powers.
Once opened, use Peach’s mermaid powers to command the eel inside to depart from that area. Hold your analog stick to the left. The eel will smash through the prison where the fish and Theets are being held hostage. Freeing those individuals will net you the 6th Sparkle Gem.
Peach will regroup with the Theets and fish she saved. They’ll lead her to a new room. In it, several Sour Bunch mermaids are causing problems. Peach must perform exceptionally with her Theet buddies to please them.
Like the prior mermaid performance, a musical aura will surround Peach as she performs. During it, tiny fish will arrive and clash with her aura. They’ll clash from the top, left, and right areas. Tilt your analog stick in those directions as soon as they clash with her aura. The fish will glow and head to different sections of your band.
For the big fish, hold your analog stick in the proper direction. Several medium-sized fish will require you to tilt your stick in multiple directions. You must continue this tilting and holding fiasco five times before you receive the final Sparkle Gem. If you encounter any problems, we got you covered here.
Essentially, let the next row of fish hit your aura if you miss any fish. Do not tilt or hold your analog stick. You will perish and have to replay this section again. While this is a buzzkill, it’s better than replaying the entire stageplay again. Anyway, you’ll achieve this victory screen afterward.
What Happens After You Complete This Stageplay?
Like the previous stageplay, the final stageplay you complete’s room will glow. A spark will shoot from it and head toward the middle. However, unlike previous floors, no boss door will appear. Stella and Peach discuss this matter in detail.
After pondering, Stella assumes she and Peach must save the remaining Sparklas on the basement floor. She entices Peach to check that floor out. But before we do that, there’s a rehearsal we must complete.
Mighty Rehearsal
Navigate Peach to the Staff Member Theet. He’s to the right of the middle star emblem. He’ll ask you to participate in the Mighty Rehearsal. Accept his request. You must save about 60 Theets from countless enemy waves during the Mighty Rehearsal.
Each wave introduces new enemies for you to battle. You will fail the rehearsal if an enemy hits you. For a professional tip, when you reach the wave with the spacecraft enemies, keep one of the spacecrafts in your grasp. When the next wave of enemies arrives, toss the spacecraft enemy at them. You’ll be saving time and effort doing this. There are four waves in total.
Once you complete all the waves, the Staff Member Theet will examine your results. He’ll reward you with the ribbon above if you save sixty or more Theets. Once you’re done with him, head to the Star Lift toward the bottom. Select the basement floor. It’ll be called BF. Let’s save those Sparklas and give Madame Grape a thrashing!
