Pit Babe is a Thai BL Omegaverse story about a race-car driver, Babe, and his number one fanboy, Charlie. Babe is a race car driver for the X Hunter team with an impressive winning streak attributed to his racing skills and the fact that he is an Alpha with unique superpowers.

On the other hand, Charlie is an aspiring race car driver, also an Alpha, who first approaches Babe under the guise of wanting him to lend a racecar he can use in his audition to join the X Hunter Team. Due to his super senses, Babe needs to have sex with another Alpha before his races to calm down his senses; otherwise, he gets overwhelmed and unable to concentrate during the races.

Coincidentally, Charlie is a special Alpha, and he perfectly pairs up with Babe since he has all the qualities Babe needs in a sex mate, such as the lack of the strong Alpha hormones that easily overwhelm Babe. Most importantly, he satisfies him, and their relationship starts with Charlie agreeing to become “Babe’s Boy” in exchange for access to his race cars. However, Charlie has a hidden agenda for approaching Babe.

Pit Babe is a unique BL story, primarily due to its Omegaverse premise that makes it immediately stand out among other Thai BLs that are released simultaneously. In addition, the script is action-packed from the get-go as it introduces the main protagonists, antagonists, and the mystery that shrouds the relationships forged in the narrative.

The script focuses on character development with substantial backstories for every character in the series, making every character relevant. However, towards the end of the series, the narrative abruptly changes from exciting race cars and complex mysteries to bizarre abductions and gunfights.

The script gets too ambitious to resolve the mystery, veering off the premise of race car driving, making the writing feel less coherent and sloppy. Unfortunately, the narrative does not pick up until the last episode, leaving the audience with more questions than answers.

Regardless, Pit Babe boasts unforgettable characters with versatile skills and astounding chemistry that will keep you glued even through the melodramatic scenes and senseless chaos. First, Babe’s magnetic presence will pull you in as he exudes immeasurable confidence.

He is a notorious playboy who quickly turns lovesick when he finds his soulmate. His acting prowess helps him breeze through the character as he can easily change from the savage “Pit Babe” to the vulnerable and emotional Babe, especially around Charlie.

Although a newbie actor plays Charlie,  he quickly pulls his weight to match Babe’s charisma, and their chemistry bounces off the screen, mesmerising the viewers. Charlie is an exciting character who hides his sexual prowess beneath his innocent face with huge circular glasses. He is charming, cute, and harmlessly makes his way into Babe’s heart.

Alan is the oldest member of the X Hunter Team and is like their protective uncle. He is a natural leader, resourceful, an extrovert, and self-conscious about his age. Alongside him is the young mechanic whose personality, starting with the vast age difference, is the opposite of Alan’s.

Jeff is quiet, does not like socialising, and detests physical contact with other people, but a skilled mechanic. If you were like me, you stuck through the show for this fantastic opposite-attracts duo. Alan and Jeff’s chemistry is pure magic, leaving you craving more.

Way is the antihero obsessed with Babe and efficiently manages to fool us all in the first half of the series into believing he is the good guy who cares the most about Babe. He is manipulative, hiding behind love to make Babe feel he does not deserve any better. Way is selfish, obsessive, and a betrayer.

Another antihero is Kenta, Tony’s right-hand man, who turns villainous out of gratitude to the man who raised him. He is a complex character with a kind, loving, and caring personality hidden beneath the criminal image built by Tony. He shares a profound chemistry with Pete.

Another significant character is the greedy, self-absorbed, cruel, and ruthless Tony, who hides ill intentions behind the image of the caring adopted father to so many children in his foundation. Moreover, Pit Babe is incomplete without the comedic duo, North and Sonic, whose presence and fresh pairing and bickering keep us entertained throughout the episodes.

Overall, Pit Babe leaves a positive impression on the audience, offering unique entertainment, thrill, and intimacy that is off the charts. Even when the script got sloppy, the characters delivered, which is why you will stick through the end and be left craving more of their magnetic presence on your screens.
