Pikmin 4
A new adventure blossoms for the adorable Pikmin as they help players tackle a variety of challenges on a strange, new planet.
Gameplay-wise, you should expect something similar to previous titles in this game series. Once again, you will take on the role of a stranded astronaut who teams up with the Pikmin to navigate the wilderness. You’ll need to look after the colourful little fellows as while they will help you overcome some of the game’s challenges, they are liable to succumb to a number of terrible threats if you don’t give them the necessary guidance.
While the game will be familiar to anybody who has played a Pikmin game before, it does have a few new additions. These include a new ice Pikmin type that is capable of freezing water, a Glow Pikmin that can help you see in the dark, and an adorable dog-like creature that can smash through obstacles and carry Pikmin on its back. Handy!
In this latest title, you will also have the opportunity to play from the Pikmin’s perspective, which is a first for the series. In previous titles, the games were played from an isometric perspective. We expect you’ll have the option to toggle between the two viewpoints as and when is needed.

On a peculiar far away planet, a group of space travellers are stranded and awaiting rescue. Are you the right rescuer for the job? Pick up their SOS signals and explore an uncharted world inhabited by a curious crop of creatures.
Thankfully, some of them are friends, not foes! Meet the Pikmin – these spirited helpers might be small in stature, but boast strength in numbers. Grow, gather and guide them to tackle tasks big and small.
Explore, hunt for treasure in vast open areas, battle wild critters, solve puzzles and rescue the stranded travellers together.

What platform is Pikmin 4 releasing on?
Pikmin is a first-party Nintendo title so will only be available on the Nintendo Switch. It will launch on July 21, 2023, just in time for anybody looking to devote their lives to a new game over the summer break.
Is Pikmin 4 single-player or multiplayer?
The game can be played in single-player and local multiplayer.
The multiplayer modes include:
Dondori Battle: Take on or team up with a second player to collect the most items before time runs out.
Co-Op mode: Play through the story with the help of another player.
Will there be any DLC?
No downloadable content has been announced but as the deluxe version of Pikmin 3 included extra story missions, we might get the same on Pikmin 4.
How long is Pikmin 4?
We don’t know how long it will take to complete Pikmin 4 at this stage, but as Pikmin 3 took about 13 hours to complete (or 20 hours with 100% completion), we expect the new game will be similar in length.
