Paris Has Fallen – Season 1 Episode 7 Recap & Review

The Ultimatum

Paris Has Fallen Season 1 Episode 7 starts with the clock ticking as Pearce gears up to bomb the city. He has a lookout watching the van and gets constant updates. Meanwhile, the President’s security team moves her to the bunker.

At the headquarters, they discover that Simone used to date one of the men in Pearce’s team. She also wanted revenge, and that is why she helped Pearce. It was never about the money. They visit Simone’s sister Celine and realise she is about to skip town.

Celine tries to play coy, but they find a burner phone that Simone gave her sister. They explain the situation to Celine and beg her to help them. She finally breaks and tells them that Simone messaged her last night and warned her to leave the city.

At the bunker, the President holds a meeting with her advisors. They argue that they will need to evacuate the city soon. A dirty bomb is no joke and it will be hard to contain the impact. They all agree that the President can never hand herself over to Pearce.

She orders them to wait until 6 pm to give the evacuation order. She hopes the police would have found the bomb by then. The President later confides in her aide that her legacy is getting ruined. Her aide argues that if they can get through this, the President will be seen as a hero.

Meanwhile, use the information given by Celine to track Simone down. They raid the place but don’t notice she is hiding under the bed. Later, Zara sees her and a gunfight ensues. The two women fight for a while and Simone overpowers Zara. Thankfully, Vincent saves Zara by shooting Simone in the leg and giving Zara a chance to take Simone into custody. Later, they try to convince Simone to tell them the location of the bomb. They use her conscious to break her and she gives in.

The team heads back to the headquarters and sends word to the President that they have located the bomb. The problem is they can’t detonate the bomb just yet. Pearce has cameras in the van, a lookout and is watching the live feed. He will see them coming and blow up the city. The team decides to intercept the feed and put it in a loop.

They only have fifteen minutes before Pearce notices a change and realises his spotter is not answering his phone. On the other hand, Richard asks Freja to take out Pearce once the mission is done. Before heading to the bomb location,  Zara calls The and warns her to leave the city.

Once the IT team intercepts the feed and Zara and Vincent kill the spotter, they try to detonate the bomb. Unfortunately, after inspecting the bomb, the bomb expert says he will need twenty minutes to disarm it.

With no option left, Zara and Vincent attempt to take the van elsewhere. Thea also calls Zara to inform her that she has left. She notices that Zara is acting weird in the way she says goodbye. She starts getting scared, but Zara hangs up after saying she loves her.

Meanwhile, Pearce notices the feed is on a loop and, when he calls his spotter, he doesn’t respond. He switches the camera in the van on and sees Vincent and Zara driving it. It doesn’t help that the van is stuck in traffic and they are losing precious time. Pearce calls Vincent and makes the first move to detonate the bomb.

He gives Vincent an ultimatum to bring the President to him according to the original deadline, or he detonates the bomb. Vincent agrees to the conditions to keep the citizens safe. They abandon the car and walk away.

The news reaches the President, and she holds a press briefing and gives an evacuation order. Panic takes over the city and the residents hurry to leave. The only one who gains from the recent events is Richard. Thea calls Zara and begs her to leave the city and meet her. Zara promises to see her soon. In the meantime, Pearce orders Freja to kidnap Thea as an insurance policy. Pearce doesn’t rust Vincent to deliver the President.

Zara talks to Vincent and suggests that he talk to the President and convince her to give herself up. She thinks they can use the President to kill Pearce since he won’t expect it. Vincent is not sure the plan will work. For one, her security team will never allow it. Zara suggests they work around the President’s security team. Vincent visits the President in the bunker and tells her the plan.

The Episode Review

Trust Zara to come up with the most diabolical plan ever. Will the President agree to this plan and how will they get her out of the bunker? If this ends up badly, Vincent and Zara can kiss their career goodbye. To be honest, they will be lucky to live to tell the tale if the President dies after they sneak her out.

Just like Zara, Pearce is also making moves and using Thea as an insurance policy. Zara will be in for the shock of her life when she sees her girlfriend held hostage by Pearce. As we head to the finale, the stakes are raised quite high. The anticipation and curiosity to see how this revenge ends is killing us. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait a week to know what happens next.
