Paris Has Fallen – Season 1 Episode 4 Recap & Review

The Airstrip

Paris Has Fallen Season 1 Episode 4 starts with a plane landing at Orly Airport.  In the meantime, one of the cleaners uses her job to get Pearce information from the air tower. She later calls him once she has completed the mission.

Meanwhile, Vincent is still struggling with the reality of what the president did. He is not sure she can trust him anymore. He leaves the palace that morning and heads to work.

They are currently still looking for Pearce’s associates and have found one man who was part of the embassy attack. Vincent updates Zara on the President and says all her public engagements are cancelled, and the palace is on lockdown.

They continue to survey the suspect, Shaun, but he spots them and tries to flee. Once he is cornered, he fires at them and ends up getting killed. They find the dead body of a woman in his car and quickly identify her as Annette. She ran a skydiving company with her husband at a small airstrip.

The husband is unreachable, so they will have to track him down psychically. They also use the GPS on the car to figure out where Shaun has recently been.

In the meantime, Freja updates her boss, Richard, on Pearce’s next step. Whatever they are up to will affect the market, but Freja says Pearce only cares about his revenge mission. Richard advises her to continue watching him. He orders her to handle him if he becomes a problem. Currently, Pearce, Freja and his men are on a small airstrip. They are planning to sort of hijack a plane.

On the ride to meet Annette’s husband, Zara tells Vincent that she told Thea the truth and she left. She is not sure if Thea will come back to her. Zara brings up the President and Vincent admits that he has been having an on-and-off relationship with her. He admits he is struggling with what the President did.  He, however, tells Zara that it is over between him and the President.

At the small airstrip, Pearce and his team hack into the air tower and force the cargo plane to land at the small airstrip where they are waiting. Unfortunately, the arrival of Zara and Vincent ruins their plan.

It takes a while for Vincent and Zara to realise something is off when they get to the airstrip. At first glance, everything looks normal until Zara notices blood on the windowpane and gets attacked by one of the men acting like one of the staff. Meanwhile, Vincent notices something weird when the co-pilot of the plane gets shot as they talk.

He and the plane’s security guy rush inside the plane and the pilot tries to take off. However, Pearce threatens to kill his family, and he stops. At the same time, Zara is overpowered and brought onto the plane. The plane takes off again under Pearce’s order.

During the short flight, Pearce tries to explain his revenge mission to Zara and Vincent. He feels Vincent would understand, as he is a soldier. On the other side of the plane, Freja secures the Uranium on the plane. Once they are done, they get ready to skydive and kill the captives.

Zara and Vincent fight back, but they are unable to stop Freja and Pearce from getting away. This new development causes more concern since it is clear that Perce is creating a dirty bomb using the Uranium.

The President orders the police to find the bomb before she is forced to evacuate the city. As for Vincent and Zara, they worry that Pearce has spies among them. He seems to be one step ahead of them. Vincent comes clean about his ongoing relationship with the President. Zara asks him to end it since it is compromising him. However, when Zara gets home, she finds Thea packing and convinces her to stay.

Elsewhere, another young lady contacts Pearce through a burner phone. Pearce and Freja bring in bomb expert, Farid to make their dirty bomb. Farid and Pearce are old pals and are in this mess together.

Later that night, Vincent finds the President scared out of her mind. He promises to protect her till the end.

The Episode Review

The President has started to get scared now that Pearce is making a bomb and threatening the lives of so many citizens. If Pearce succeeds, he will have her at the palms of his hands. He will threaten to use the bomb unless she gives herself up.

If she refuses, she will be known as a coward who let her people down. There is no win-win situation for her unless the police get to the bomb first. On the bright side, at least she has Vincent to protect her. As for Zara and Thea, they are on the mend and it looks like they can salvage their relationship.

I am curious about Richard and how he fits in all of this. He is bankrolling the whole revenge mission, but he has different motives. The chaos is bringing him a lot of money, but is he looking for political gain too?
