Currently, a new Pokémon competitor called Palworld has entered the fray. It’s been gaining much traction worldwide over the weeks, with some calling it “Pokémon with guns.” However, some will admit it leans more toward the survival-adventure spectrum like Ark: Survival Evolved, Rust, etc. Nonetheless, we’re confident this one will remain popular based on its success and future promises.
To celebrate its achievements, we’ll be publishing numerous articles highlighting helpful tips, interesting mods, and other things related to Palworld. Today, we’d like to list 10 Pal Sphere types we’d want to see appear in the game. Since other monster-tamer games like Nexomon, Cassette Beasts, and others can have creature-capturing options, why not Palworld too?
For this discussion, the Pal Sphere concepts mentioned should not have catch rates that are equal to the game’s most powerful Pal Sphere, the Legendary Sphere. We’d like the Pal Sphere ideas below to offer catch rates that are equal to the Giga and Hyper Pal Spheres’ rates. However, there may be a few mentioned that have catch rates equal to the lower-ranked Pal Spheres.
Regardless, if you have any Pal Sphere types you’d like to see in the game, let us know in the comments below. Additionally, if you want to follow our Palworld walkthrough coverage, click here.
Night Pal Sphere
Hunting for pals and minerals, while fun, can be a dangerous endeavor in Palworld. You never know what may happen during your ventures through this game’s dungeons, rivers, and forests. Having said that, some players may ignore the danger and will find themselves exploring this game’s locales for hours. Those who value exploration will do so in the morning, at dawn, or night.
Therefore, we’d like Pocket Pair, Palworld’s developers, to implement a Night Pal Sphere into the game. Like the Dusk Ball in Pokémon, this Pal Sphere will be most effective at night or in dimmed locations. The design can take on a darker color palette with star or moon-like insignias inserted on top of it to help it stand out.
Romance Pal Sphere
Much like other monster-taming games, you’ll stumble across many male and female Pals in Palworld. While some players may opt to have a team full of male Pals, others may prefer a team filled with female Pals. Considering Pocket Pair plans to incorporate PVP-based gameplay in the future, breeding may be a common activity you’ll see many players participate in soon.
Therefore, if you’re someone who adores Pokémon’s Love Ball, you’ll adore our Romance Pal Sphere concept. Similar to the Love Ball, the Romance Pal Sphere would function similarly. However, with this one, it’ll work well against a Pal who doesn’t have the same gender as your first Pal party member. This will allow players to have a mixed-up team when using it.
Design-wise, it’d be lovely if it had a pink and red type of aura inside it. Also, it’d be great if the Pal Sphere had a heart-shaped emblem placed on the front of it to give it that mushy flair.
Air Pal Sphere
As you level up in Palworld, you’ll gain access to many game features that’ll make island traversal competent and fun. Whether it’s riding on a grounded Pal’s back or soaring through the air on the winged Pals, you’ll appreciate Pocket Pair for giving you additional ways to explore its varied terrains.
During your ventures, you’re likely to run into more flying creatures from Celeray to Nitewing. While owning one of these Pals will fill you with glee, imagine if Palworld had a Pal Sphere that’d make catching these winged creatures easier. Pulling a page from Pokémon and Coromon‘s book, we’d like there to be an Air Pal Sphere in the game.
Much like Pokémon Legends: Arceus’s Feather, Wing, and Jet Ball, this Air Pal Sphere would be sufficient against Palworld’s airborne Pals. Moreover, when thrown, this Pal Sphere can move at quick speeds. This would evoke that fast feeling one receives when falling from the sky. Pocket Pair can also incorporate outer wings on the Pal Sphere’s design to give it that neat touch.
Aqua Pal Sphere
Gathering and farming are essential tasks many Palworld players should partake in. While the process can be a hassle at first, you’ll value the benefits you’ll receive by performing these tasks. However, to make harvesting simple, many players opt to have Water-type Pals working on their base’s plantations. Therefore, we’d like there to be a water-type themed Pal Sphere.
Enter the Aqua Pal Sphere. This Pal Sphere would make catching water-type Pals like Relaxaurus and Gobfin easier. For its design, the Aqua Pal Sphere could have a light blue-like aura. Additionally, Pocket Pair could attach a hook on top of the Pal Sphere to give it a fishing rod or ornament-like design. This would help this Pal Sphere differentiate itself from the standard blue Pal Sphere present in the game.
Wonder Pal Sphere
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is still viewed as one of the best Pokémon Nintendo Switch games. This game gave players multiple areas to explore from compelling oases to grassy and mountainous landscapes. While they were lovely to venture through, these areas, like the ones found in Palworld, held powerful and weak creatures that you avoided like the plague, or confronted without issue.
Moreover, both games give you an interesting sound bite when you throw a Poké Ball or Pal Sphere at the critters from behind. Unfortunately, Palworld doesn’t have a Pal Sphere that’ll highly benefit players from throwing the Pal Sphere at targets from behind like Legends Arceus’s Heavy, Leaden, and Gigaton Ball.
Therefore, we’d like Pocket Pair to implement the Wonder Pal Sphere. This Pal Sphere will be effective against Pals who don’t notice you. For this sphere, Pocket Pair can go with any aura color. But to give it that “curious edge” we’d like the design to have a “question mark” emblem placed on it somewhere.
Echo Pal Sphere
Another borrowed Poké Ball concept we’d like to see implemented in Palworld is the Repeat Ball. This is a sought-after Poké Ball in the Pokémon games because it gives people higher chances to obtain Pokémon they’ve already caught before. Considering Pal Vs Pal battles will be a feature coming to the game soon, an Echo Pal Sphere with similar capabilities as the Repeat Ball would be great to see.
However, many people may bat an eye at this idea, since Palworld awards players with EXP if they catch a certain amount of the same Pal. Therefore, if a player were to catch a Pal with the Echo Pal Sphere, that captured Pal shouldn’t count toward the player’s EXP achievement. While we’re unsure how Pocket Pair should design this one, it’d be a neat Pal Sphere type to see.
Wealth Pal Sphere
So far, we’ve noted several capture device notions that aren’t too unique. Moreover, we’re aware that Palworld allows players to sell Pals in the game to make money. Therefore, we’d like Pocket Pair to implement the Wealth Pal Sphere into the game. Unlike others on this list, this Pal Sphere should have the lowest catch ratio in the game, since this make-believe Pal Sphere offers more monetary value.
If you successfully catch a Pal with this theoretical Wealth Pal Sphere and sell that Pal in Palworld, you’d rake in more awards from the seller than if you were to sell them as normal. While many folks choose to get rid of their Pals for multiple reasons, the Wealth Pal Sphere will give them financial reasons to do so.
For its design, Pocket Pal can go with a different shade of green than the one found in the Mega Sphere. As one would expect, the “$” symbol should be placed somewhere on the sphere too.
Snooze Pal Sphere
As mentioned in our Night Pal Sphere discussion, you’ll potentially find yourself navigating through Palworld’s locations at night. During your nightly expeditions, you’ll often find Pals roaming the environment or napping. In the latter’s case, we’d like Pocket Pair to implement a Snooze Pal Sphere type.
Similar to Pokémon’s Dream Ball, the Snooze Pal Sphere will be effective against Pals when they’re asleep. Although there’s a chance a Pal can wiggle its way out of this sphere, it’d be a fine addition, especially for those who want to tackle the game from a Pacifistic perspective. Design-wise, we can see this Pal Sphere having a different shade of purple or pink for its aura.
Further, the sphere could have some “Z” wavy symbols implanted on it to give it a unique identity.
Raid Pal Sphere
Much like the Wealth Pal Sphere, we wanted to mention a Pal Sphere type that would match the themes presented in Palworld. Construction and farming are key activities in Palworld, especially for those who love decorating their bases. Unfortunately, you’ll often get raided by the game’s Pals and human enemies.
Instead of engaging them in combat, why not give our theoretical Raid Pal Sphere a shot? With this Pal Sphere, you’ll have a higher chance of catching Pals or human enemies when they raid you. For its appearance, this Pal Sphere could take a nod from Pokémon’s book with the Timer Ball’s colors, offering an aura that changes between white, black, and red.
Moreover, the Raid Pal Sphere could have weapon-like emblems placed on it to give it that violent visual touch.
Human Pal Sphere
Unlike most games that feature colorful monsters in their world, Palworld gives players the chance to catch and order humans around. It’s a weird concept in theory, but given the game’s amusing essence, it fits right at home. Therefore, Pocket Pair should implement a Human Pal Sphere to capitalize on the game’s ridiculous charm.
As one can tell, this Human Pal Sphere will assist you in catching the game’s wandering bandits and merchants. Unfortunately, we’re unsure what color Pocket Pair should use for its aura. However, for the Human Pal Sphere’s outer layer, we suggest the developers place human emblems around the sphere to give it that irregular and unforgettable touch.
Considering this is a game where creatures can carry weapons and perform manual labor, having a Human Pal Sphere isn’t too farfetched of a concept.
So, there we have it, 10 Pal Sphere types we’d love to see implemented in Palworld!
