Overtake! is an anime based on the motorsport of F4, which chronicles the journey of a small F4 racing team as they aspire for greatness and reach for the stars.
The series commences with Kouya Madoka, a freelance photographer who was once a renowned photojournalist but is currently experiencing a career slump. Kouya encounters Haruka Asahina, a young and exceptionally skilled driver who ignites his inspiration. Together, they work towards the dream of ascending the rankings and ultimately standing on the podium.

What Happens in Episode 1 of Overtake!?
Episode 1 marks the beginning of the anime with the introduction of Kouya to the sport of F4. Being his first day he explores the paddock before a small team catches his eye. He ends up becoming friends with the team’s owner, Futoshi Komaki.
This earns him an opportunity to witness the F4 race upfront and is impressed by Haruka’s determination and passion. Haruka gives a phenomenal performance and almost enters the top 3 before a mishap occurs and his tire pops, forcing him into the escape zone. This ignites a spark in Koya Madoka and he pledges to sponsor the team.
