Movies and Shows coming to Amazon Prime Video UK in October 2023

There is some great content coming to Amazon Prime Video this month, including the UK streaming premieres of John Wick: Chapter 4 and the time-bending comedy thriller Totally Killer.

October 3

After Everything (2023)

The fifth and mercifully final installment of the tepid After franchise finds Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) struggling to move on with his life after breaking up with Tessa (Josephine Langford). Will they get back together again? 

After seeing the pair fall in and out of love multiple times, with nothing about their characterizations to make us truly care about them, I get the feeling that all but the most avid fans of Anna Todd’s novels will be glad this series of movies is now over and done with. Make Me Scream

Tempest Bledsoe (The Cosby Show) and Darryl M. Bell (A Different World) host this Halloween special featuring three sets of celebrities who must face a series of bone-chilling scare zones while trying not to scream.

October 6

Desperately Seeking Soulmate: Escaping Twin Flames Universe

This 3-part docuseries unveils the dark truth about the Twin Flames Universe, an online group that supposedly matches people with their soulmates. Former members of the group talk about their experiences, giving insight into the extremes they were made to go through when trying to find their ‘Twin Flame.’

Totally Killer (2023)

When the infamous “Sweet Sixteen Killer” returns 35 years after his first murder spree to claim another victim, 17-year-old Jamie (Kiernan Shipka) accidentally travels back in time to 1987, determined to stop the killer before he starts murdering people.

Olivia Holt, Randall Park, and Lochlyn Monroe also star in this offbeat comedy thriller.

October 9

One Shot: Overtime Elite

This 6-part docuseries explores the lives of seven talented basketball players in the US, including NBA draft picks Amen and Ausar Thompson, as they navigate through various challenges and grueling training in pursuit of a professional sports career.

Mr. Dressup: The Magic Of Make-Believe

This award-winning documentary takes a detailed look at the long-running Canadian children’s series, including the history of Ernie Coombs (Mr. Dressup), who built a legacy of kindness and creativity over 4000 episodes during the show’s 29-year run.

October 11

Awareness (2023)

Spanish thriller about a rebellious teenager named Ian who scams unsuspecting victims with his ability to manipulate minds. When his powers get out of control in public, he becomes the target of two organizations who want to use his powers for their own ends.

The Greatest Show Never Made

In June 2004, 30 contestants traveled to South London in the UK to take part in what was supposed to be the biggest reality show on television. But despite quitting their jobs and leaving their home and partners on their quest for fame and fortune, their dreams were shattered when they discovered the show didn’t exist. This documentary delves into the fallout of the events that happened.

October 13

Everybody Loves Diamonds – Season 1

Inspired by the 2003 “Antwerp Diamond Heist, this 8-part Italian series follows a team of small-town thieves who come up with a genius mastermind plan to steal millions of dollars worth of precious stones from the Antwerp Diamond Centre.

John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)

After being condemned by the tyrannical High Table to be on the run for the rest of his life, our favourite deadly assassin John Wick embarks on a vengeance-fuelled journey that leads him into a fateful confrontation with his former employers.

The Burial (2023)

Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones star in this true story drama about a smooth-talking lawyer who helps a funeral home owner save his business from a corporate behemoth after a handshake deal turns sour.

October 20

Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose (2023)

Simon Pegg stars in this quirkily enjoyable movie as the titular paranormal psychologist who begins an investigation into the case of a mongoose that apparently has the ability to talk!

Silver Dollar Road

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Raoul Peck’s (I Am Not Your Negro) latest documentary focuses on one Black family’s decades-long legal battle to protect their ancestral home from land developers. 

The Other Zoey (2023)

Josephine Langford (After Everything) stars in this new romantic comedy as a super-smart computer nerd, with no interest in romance, whose life is turned upside down when the school’s soccer star gets amnesia and mistakes her for his girlfriend. 

October 24

Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles

The improbable story of The Wiggles, four friends who rock ‘n’ rolled their way into the hearts of millions in the early 90s when they became one of the most successful children’s acts of all time.

October 27

Plane (2023)

Gerard Butler manages to wash away the bad taste many of us were left with after seeing him in Last Seen Alive (which we dubbed one of the worst thrillers in recent memory) with this reasonably exciting thriller about a pilot who finds himself caught up in a war zone when he’s forced to land his plane during a storm.
