Movies And Shows Coming To Amazon Prime Video UK In December 2022

If you’re looking for something to warm your heart during the chilly festive season, you might want to check out some of Prime Video’s offerings this month. Not only are they premiering three new romantic comedies that are guaranteed to turn you into slush (not literally) but they are also premiering Wildcat, an inspirational documentary about a man and his baby ocelot, that is guaranteed to move you emotionally.

Check out this month’s highlights below and then keep scrolling to take a look at some of the other titles landing on Amazon Prime Video UK this December.

Please note: This list is correct at the time of writing but as Amazon tends to drop titles onto their service without warning, you can expect plenty more movies and shows to land on Prime over the coming weeks.

Your Christmas Or Mine? (2022)

Young couple James (Asa Butterfield) and Hayley (Nora Kirk) are destined to be without one another over the Christmas period. But after waving goodbye at the train station, they individually decide they can’t be apart and so swap trains so they can be with their other half. This results in a disastrous mix-up where they are then forced to spend the festive period with their respective in-laws. Will they find their way back to one another? All will be revealed in this new festive rom-com.

Three Pines: Season 1

In this adaptation of Louise Perry’s novel Still Life, Alfred Molina stars as Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, who is called to the Quebec village of Three Pines to figure out a murder. He discovers long-buried secrets hidden within this seemingly idyllic town where not everything is as it seems.

Something From Tiffany’s (2022)

This romantic comedy tells the story of Rachel (Zoe Deutch) and Ethan (Kendrick Smith Sampson) whose paths cross when Zoe accidentally receives an engagement ring from Tiffany’s that was meant for Ethan’s long-term girlfriend.  When they meet up to correct this mistake, they realise their future might lie with one another.

The Little Things (2021)

Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe Deacon (Denzel Washington) travels to LA on a quick evidence-gathering assignment and inadvertently becomes embroiled in a case involving a serial killer. He partners up with LASD detective Baxter (Rami Malek) to investigate the murders and is drawn down a path that leads to a strange loner (Jared Leto) who may be the culprit. There are surprises in store in this noirish crime thriller but unfortunately, they are easily predicted.

13th December

Dr Seuss Baking Challenge: Season 1

An all-new baking competition series where nine teams of pastry chefs and self-taught cake artists have to craft confectionary creations that are tied to such beloved Seuss characters as The Cat in the Hat.

16th December

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

Gal Gadot returns as Wonder Woman in this entertaining sequel. This time around, she has to save the world from crazed businessman Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) while simultaneously dealing with Cheetah, the super-powered incarnation of Kristen Wiig’s mild-mannered Barbara Minerva.

About Fate (2022)

Emma Roberts and Thomas Mann star as two strangers who believe in true love but who never get to find it for themselves. But when their paths cross during one stormy New Year’s Eve, there is a chance that their luck could be about to change.

Nanny (2022)

In this psychological horror movie, Aisha (Anna Diop), an undocumented immigrant, is hired to care for the daughter of a wealthy Manhattan couple. She is haunted by the absence of her son that she left behind in Senegal but her new job gives her the opportunity to bring him to the US. As she awaits his arrival, she begins to have nightmares and visions that spill over into her reality.

19th December

Tom & Jerry: The Movie (2021)

The original Tom & Jerry cartoon shorts were hilarious but this live-action/animated movie outing for the battling pair never once tickles the funny bones.  Chloe Grace Moretz and Rob Delaney are just two of the human stars that have to act alongside the CGI duo but despite their best efforts, they aren’t able to save this disappointing misfire.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Season 3

After working as a CIA case officer in Rome, Jack Ryan is given a tip-off about a secret plan to restore the Soviet Empire. While investigating this intelligence, things go awry, and Jack finds himself implicated in a larger conspiracy. He is then forced to go on the run from both the CIA and an international rogue faction while simultaneously racing against time to stop a global catastrophe.

Sounds like a mash-up of The Bourne Identity and the hit TV show 24 but despite a familiar premise, this third outing for John Krasinski as the CIA analyst should be exciting stuff.

23rd December

Superintelligence (2020)

Melissa McCarthy stars as average woman Carol Peters who is chosen by an AI entity (voiced by James Corden) to be the guinea pig for an experiment that will decide the future of humanity. No pressure then! Sadly, despite the considerable comic talents of McCarthy, this movie didn’t fare well with critics, largely due to the lame script that failed to live up to the movie’s title.

30th December

Wildcat (2022)

In this inspirational documentary, a young British soldier who is struggling with severe depression and PTSD after spending time in Afghanistan finds hope and meaning in his life when he fosters a baby ocelot with a conservationist he meets in the Amazon rainforest.
